Rookie cornerback B.W. Webb should have been more aggressive on the touchdown by Darren Sproles that gave the Saints a 21-10 lead shortly before halftime last week, coach Jason Garrett said.

“It was a bad play for him,” Garrett said. “I think as much as anything else, it’s experience, it’s understanding his run fits, playing aggressively, not being hesitant, ‘Should I do that, should I pull the trigger?’ He needs to step up there and make that tackle, and he knows that. But some of that is not being quite as confident as he needs to be in that situation. He’ll learn from that experience.”

Webb was benched after the play and said after the game that he didn’t blame the coaches.

Wednesday, he said his confidence had bounced back.

“These guys have confidence in me, and I think that’s one thing that helps me out a lot,” he said. “They see that I can play. They have confidence in me to get out there and just keep playing. If they have confidence in me, I have confidence in myself.”

Webb said he’s already learned to let a bad game go.

“I learned that from the first game I messed up,” he said and laughed. “That Raiders game.”
