All of you fans out there paying regular-season prices for preseason games, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett empathizes with you.

He hopes you understand what the NFL and the teams are trying to do.

“I think the NFL does an amazing job presenting its product, both on TV and live when you go to the game. That happens in 32 cities around the league. I think the Dallas Cowboys do an amazing job presenting the product,” he said. “I think fans just need to understand what the rhythm of preseason is. We want to get our team ready to play, and it’s really about how we do in the regular season. I am empathetic to that whole situation.”

Garrett said he understands if the league wants to cut down the preseason games. But for him, the job won’t change.

“From a coaching standpoint and a playing standpoint, what we are trying to do is put our best product out there for 16 games during the regular season, and this is the process we go through to do that,” he said. “Not only to evaluate guys, but to get our front guys ready.”
