Jason Garrett was non-committal Friday when asked if the Cowboys would change their sideline operation this week. As it turns out, they are doing just that.

Sources confirmed Saturday that quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson will move upstairs to the press box with Garrett sending the play into Tony Romo during the game. The move was first reported by ESPN.

Wilson spent the first 10 games on the sideline, directly communicating with Romo after getting the play call from offensive coordinator Bill Callahan. Callahan will continue to sit upstairs and call the plays, but instead of communicating with Wilson, he now will relay the plays to Garrett on the sideline. Garrett then will give Romo the play in the quarterback-communication audio system.

Sources say Wilson will provide another set of eyes from above, helping Callahan, while it also will give Garrett more direct control of the play calls. Garrett relinquished play-calling duties before this season.

The Cowboys, who are averaging only 278.4 yards per game in the past five games, decided on the change during the bye week.
