DeMarcus Ware said Thursday he would travel with the team to Philadelphia and gave himself a chance to play Sunday. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Friday, though, that the team will be "conservative" with Ware.
"Nothing about him physically would surprise me," Jones said on his weekly radio show on KRLD-FM 105.3. "...He’d be the first to tell you that if this was the Super Bowl he’d be playing in it unquestionably, or if this were frankly a key game at the end of the year. But he and we want to look at the bigger picture, which is the season, and so we probably are being and will be conservative there. But nothing surprises me. He’s superman."
Jones added that he doesn't know when Ware returns but hopes it's "sooner than later."
"I don’t know, and no one knows," Jones said. "It’s how he’s feeling, how it’s responding. If he continues to respond well, then you’d hope to have him back sooner rather than later, but that’s as close as I can get."
Ware has never missed a game in his career. But he played only 16 snaps against the Commanders after injuring his quadriceps on the Commanders' second snap when chasing Robert Griffin III.
