Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced on his radio show on KRLD-FM Tuesday morning that defensive end Anthony Spencer and guard Brian Waters have a good chance to play against the Chiefs Sunday.
Spencer missed the season opener against the Giants after a setback in rehab from preseason knee surgery.
"We don't want to bring Spencer along any faster than we have to," Jones said, "but he sure had a good last two or three days before we stopped Sunday."
The Cowboys were simply being cautious with Waters after signing him to a contract last Tuesday, less than a week before the Giants game. He is still working on his conditioning and learning the playbook after sitting out the 2012 season.
"Waters was actually amazing that he was able to move," Jones said. "He had a lot of the football things that you have to do, apart from just his endurance. So I think there's a chance he could play some too."
If Waters plays it will likely been a rotation with guard Mackenzy Bernadeau as the Cowboys continue to bring him along slowly.
