Nothing changed for Kyle Orton after the Cowboys announced Tony Romo had undergone back surgery Friday morning. Orton was preparting to play Sunday anyway.
"It doesn't change my mindset," Orton said Friday. "Maybe the other guys."
Orton will make his 70th career start Sunday in an elimination game, but it will be his first since the final game of the 2011 season. He has thrown only 15 passes since signing with the Cowboys.
"We have had a good week of practice," Orton said. "I'm ready in my mind. ...I'm very excited to go out and play."
