The NFL announced Thursday that Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee has earned NFC Defensive Player of the Month honors. Lee led the team in tackles (52), tackles for loss (three for minus-6) and interceptions (three) while adding two pressures and four pass breakups in the month.
Lee had double-digit tackle totals in all four games, including an 18-tackle game.
“Fantastic player. He really is," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Monday when asked how good Lee is playing. "He’s involved in virtually every tackle, and he has such a nose for the football when they throw it. He anticipates situations, and he’s one of those guys who’s always around the ball, so good things happen. ...He leads our defense. He plays the right way. Fantastic player."
Lee won his first NFC Defensive Player of the Month honor in 2011 for the month of September.
