Jason Hatcher had another strong game, with four tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit, and defensive line coach Rod Marinelli said it’s because the scheme is a fit for the veteran defensive tackle.

“Got talent, and the system fits him really well, that under-tackle position,” Marinelli said after the Cowboys’ victory against Philadelphia. “And he has embraced it. There’s a lot of pressure in that position. Our standards are really high, and he’s playing at a high level.”

Hatcher came in tied for fifth in tackles, leading in sacks and tackles for loss and second in quarterback pressures on the team.

Marinelli, asked how much more attention Hatcher is getting, laughed and said, “Oh, a lot more. A lot more. He got a few guys looking at him today. It’s all part of it. He’s still got to produce. Other guys got to keep getting better and just get guys to keep improving. It’s every guy’s responsibility to be a pass rusher.”

Hatcher’s sack against the Eagles gave him six for the season, extending his career high.

“You never put ceilings on men,” Marinelli said. “I always have the ability to take a ceiling off and see how far a man will grow, and he’s growing.”
