Why in the world would we want Norv Turner back in Dallas? Our problems aren't on offense, anyway, and haven't been since before Tony Romo.

The dude's retired. Let him stay that way.

They havent been bad since Garrett was kicked to the curb and linehan was put in control of the offense. That is when things turned around here with the run game, the play calling, the balance, and the diverse plays.

And one has to wonder at how Garrett for so many years was pass happy and one dimensional. And if you read the article, he does compliment Garrett, but what he is really complimenting is Dak Prescott. Now certainly Garrett finally came around to the run game, but it was waaaaay too late. And anyone could see this team needed to run the ball and how much a dominant run game would help everything including Romo. Well, at least most could see that.

They weren't bad before on a points/offensive series basis. In fact, they've been good. The defense has been the problem, though we've been reluctant to admit it here where the narrative instead has been the issues were with the play calling and the offensive game management.

Norv is yet another fan of Garrett's. You can read into that whatever you want, but it is what it is. Dak deserves the compliments as well. As do the coaches who developed him.

The more we win, the more Garrett will get compliments. He will have another GREAT opportunity to prove his development as a head coach with all these suspensions and young players. We all saw what happened to Garrett and the team when Romo went down. He couldnt coach his way out of a paper bag. And that was on multiple years.

He's been getting compliments from people who ought to know all along.

And, yes, he'll have to coach around some suspensions again this year, too.

2015? When Tony and Dez went down and we lost with Weeden-to-Williams and a 63 year old Matt Cassell passing around pick-6s like they were stool softeners at his rest home and our defense did what it does some more and we lost a bunch of games?

Yeah, it really seemed like some fresh play calls or a scheme change or maybe a halftime locker room speech or two was going to turn that tide for us. I wonder why it didn't work?

Proof of what?
Proof the club needed a RB and that the RB was the missing element and that for yrs Garrett couldn't see that! 2014 had its success in running the ball...not Romo and certainly not Garrett.

It was more than a RB, it started along the OL. Dallas has rebuilt that OL over the course of the last few years

:huh::huh:;):). What the club really lost in 15 was the running game. Clubs don't win anything with the Bryants of the league.

We were top-10 in rushing yards, top-6 in rushing yards/attempt and 18th in rushing attempts in 2015.

The real problem is we couldn't score tds. Rushing or passing that year. It always comes down to the QB being able to put the ball in the end zone.

McFadden made plenty of soft yards...but was never a finisher. Garrett didn't have a clue about adapting to adversity and never will:)...the start of this season will expose him once again...if there is no RG.

Neither did Jimmy evidently since Dallas could not win when Smith was out of the line up and had losing records when any of the triplets missed games.

Ah! So it's getting the "hard yards" out of a running back that makes a coach great. Having plenty of soft ones won't do it.

And here I thought it was points all this time. Points that predominantly come out of a passing game with an adequate QB running it.

Maybe you're right and it's Doug Free's retirement that undoes everything this season.

People always get kooky right before the games start to count. I think the Zeke thing pushed people over the top a little bit earlier than usual this year.

And Garrett gets hammered equally by those that know.
