Tony Romo said he is fine, and the Cowboys are preparing for him to play this week against Kansas City.

Romo answered, “I’m fine,” to reporters’ questions at Valley Ranch on Monday.

Asked if he was in pain, he said, “A little pain.”

Romo didn’t stop to chat. He appeared to be walking normally, if deliberately, a day after having the wind knocked out of him, as the Cowboys announced, in the game against the Giants on Sunday.

But the Cowboys are not as sure about defensive end Anthony Spencer or receiver Dez Bryant. Spencer is still recovering from knee surgery in July, and Bryant has a sprained foot from the game. The Cowboys are waiting for the results from an MRI.

Running back Lance Dunbar, who is coming back from his own foot injury, said Bryant was walking fine Monday.

“I don’t think his is that bad,” Dunbar said. “He’s walking around pretty good. He’ll be all right. Just ice it. Try to stay off it as much as you can. He’ll be ready.”

For his part, Dunbar said he will practice Wednesday, but he doesn’t know if he will be ready to go against the Chiefs.

“Probably ease me back in,” he said. “That’s probably the smart thing to do is ease me back in.”
