Team's don't draft equally, they don't necessarily fit players to scheme equally, and they don't develop players equally. Just because the raw materials are similar it doesn't mean the builds will be equal.

It's a players league, and always has been. Nothing is more important to success than personnel.
It wasn't always a players league. Far from it yrs ago.

As I have watched Garrett. I don't see a lack of accountability.
I personally defend him and that's your point I presume.
My defense of Garrett has always been against short sighted criticism that lacks
the vision to see where Garrett is headed.

So here we are six or so years in and Garrett has built a great turn around in the Cowboys.
Ya, it's time to win.One game at a time.
My good friend. Jason has been there 10 yrs coaching. What you see is exactly what you are going to get going forward. He is not the future. The Cowboys are inching forward, too slowly, toward a Championship run. Now is the time to bring in a real, hard driving, HC to capture the magic that is presently there. The Cowboys have about 3 yrs to cash in on the young players to win a SB...similiar to the Seattle situation a few yrs ago. Different tactically....but similiar. If the Jones family really want to win...get a real coacing staff. Short of that..its close but NO Superbowl.

Prove some of your remarks...and a generalization is a poor dog hunt, when just based in a continual level of doubt.
You think the Atlanta Falcons team that went to the Super Bowl against the Broncos was a better team than the Cowboys? How about the Eagles team that played against the Patriots? How about the Giants team that we beat twice before they finished us off at home? You think the Giants team that played the Ravens was better than ours of last year?
How about the Titans Super Bowl team?
None of the teams I mentioned were considered dominant teams. Some pulled major upsets to advance to the Super Bowl. That's something we haven't been able to do. And I attribute that to coaching. Our coaching staff has never given us a chance in playoff games post-Jimmy era.
How's that for proof? ;)

This is football and always with a catch 13. A top team is when a team turns the corner and starts stacking wins by good and tough play...but you stereotype as to never giving a chance, and then us a Monday Quarterback Club excuse and blame the coaching staff.

I always thought the one in authority shoulders the blame, especially in coaching and when it comes to playoff and Super Bowl futulity. You know the saying, the bucks stops here. And it wasn't the janitor saying that. ;)

There’s an old football saying (sometimes quoted by former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson): “It’s not the X’s and O’s, it’s the Jimmys and Joes.” Put into somewhat more technical terms, it says that winning football games is more dependent on the talent level of the players than the scheme and play-calling of the coaches. While it is seen as a bit more applicable at the college level than the NFL, it is still valid in the pros. This is why top players at their position get top money, after all. And with the possible exception of Bill Belichick, coaches generally cannot find great success if their roster is full of mediocre players. Arguably, Belichick’s great gift is figuring out what his players do best and putting them in place to do so.

No matter how you parse it, it is hard to argue that even in the NFL, the better the players on a team’s roster, the more games you are likely to win. That is why draft picks are so valuable. And why top free agents get boatloads of money. Teams chase talent to fortify their roster in order to win.

If you accept that premise, 2017 is looking very, very bright for the Cowboys. Two recent rankings of top players in the league have Dallas among the truly elite teams in terms of how good their top players are.
