McNabb doubtful for Sunday as Eagles shake up line
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 18, 2009 2:12 PM ET

The Eagles say they are still hopeful that Donovan McNabb will play against the Saints Sunday, but their injury report has recognized that it's a long shot to happen.

McNabb is listed as doubtful with his cracked rib. Defensive lineman Victor Abiamiri is listed as questionable after injuring his groin this week and missing practice Friday.

Kevin Kolb should get the first start of his career, and will get a chance to improve his gruesome 3.7 yards-per-attempt average that he's compiled in 45 career attempts.

Kolb will play behind an offensive line that continues to make changes. Coach Andy Reid announced the team will rotate his three guards: Max Jean-Gilles, Nick Cole, and Stacy Andrews. Which is a nice way of saying that Andrews has been benched. (Jean-Gilles will replace him as a starter.)

Considering the sizable investment the team made in Andrews this offseason, this is a disappointment, no matter how it is spun. The Eagles expected the brothers Andrews to dominate on the right side of their line together for years.

For now, neither one is in the starting lineup.

I have a feeling that this will be a reoccurring theme with the Eagles this year. This team is walking a tightrope. They could be dominant...or they could fail miserably.

Wow, Justice *and* Jean-Gilles? Whodathunk the Bust Brothers would be playing next to each other?

Saints might wipe the floor with them this week.

And I'm with tomson. The Iggles could impode spectacularly this year.

If we beat the Gay-ants, and the Saints beat Philly it is going to be so sweet.

Word is Andrews hurt himself doing a jackknife into the pool of the family he was planning on being a surrogate for.

Things are looking good in Philly.

Don't forget the fact that Herremans is still out.

So far, the Eagles vaunted new offensive line is failing miserably.

You won't be disappointed.

I'll take that advice into cooperation

My TiVo cut out the last few scenes, did the Lawyer and Charlie ever have their duel?
