I'd expect that we would "consider" trading lots of players.

I guess the Ratliff to DE talk was a bit premature.

Wade might prefer a NT like Ratliff anyway. He said he's never had a NT before that he could drop into coverage on a zone blitz. Maybe with the recent rumors of Ratliff getting bigger, that NT is really Ratliff's position. Makes you wonder what we'd do at DE. Spears was solid. Hatcher hasn't turned the corner either.

Spears starting isn't the worst thing, he doesn't hurt us as he is really solid against the run.

But I'd rather see Fergy back at NT and Ratliff at DE with Canty.

Like I said in the other thread I cant wait to see what his value is.

on a side note. I would be livid if i were him. this is a perfect fit for him. He is well respected in the locker room, his family loves living here and we are a winner.

In miami its starting over again and taking a beating every week to win 5 games, plus uprooting your family again.

When he gets to miami it will be interesting to see if they sign Keith Davis and sign key. they will be like Dallas afc.

it will be weird watching it.

If we trade Ferguson, I want a 4th rounder for him. I don't care if Miami doesn't want to pay that; if they want him, then pay us.

I remember hearing some talk awhile ago about the release of Shaun Rogers for cap reasons. Cant recall the source but i would love to work out a deal for Rogers. Can someone confirm what I heard or was it just a rumor.

He cant be worth that.

if he is and we have another 4th rounder, I am going to be expecting one of the best drafts ever.

i don't think fergy at his age with his contract and coming off an injury would have much value at all. a 5th would be a dream come true, more likely a 6th.
i was looking forward to seeing ratliff outside some but if we get lucky and stay healthy i guess he could still go outside on passing downs but i don't know if he could have the same impact after playing inside. unless we just have him backup tank and take a few reps there and play outside on passing downs. it's gonna be interesting.the only guy i really like in the draft at that spot is big red from aggie land but i think he will go by mid 2nd at latest

I'd keep Ferguson, always need rotation guys.

He's not worth the 6th to 7th we are going to get for him.

DMN Blog: Jerry talking trade with Tuna

Jerry talking trade with Tuna

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

Breathe easy ... this post isn't about Marion "The Barbarian" Barber.
Sources inform Calvin "Lucky" Watkins that the Cowboys and Dolphins are discussing a trade that would send NT Jason Ferguson, a Bill Parcells favorite for years, to Miami. Not clear yet what the Cowboys might get in return.
Ferguson, who suffered a season-ending injury in the opener, is expendable because of the emergence of Jay Ratliff. Tank Johnson, who has stayed out of trouble since signing with Dallas, gives the Cowboys quality depth at nose tackle.

More to come as this story develops.
