Start Alfred in Washington

Who thinks yes or no, start Morris? He looked pretty good against NY, not saying bench Elliott, just give Morris a few more snaps and ease EE into the starting job while watching and learning from Morris?

That is absolutely laughable. The Steelers are a SB contender and probably a top 3 offense in football if not the top offense. They would hang 50 on the Cowboys D.

Their offense is a bad matchup for us.. True.. I don't so much worry about the Steelers passing game as much as them getting their run game going which would open up their passing game.

With that said.. We will play them this year and it will play out. They are really a lot like we are. Their defense isn't that great and offensively we are similar except they aren't using their backup QB. We could've very easily have hung 50 on the Giants with Romo and the Giants are much better than Washington.

Washington is winning 4 or 5 games this year.

I agree. We need to stop giving Elliot his job. He needs to earn it. Start Morris and give them a 50/50 split. Morris outplayed Elliot last week, and has earned his carries this game, especially with it being against a former team.

Washington looked horrible and they play right into our strengths.

Couldn't stop the run, allowed big plays downfield to the receiver, and Cousins couldn't complete passes against zone coverage and no pass rush.

They suck. I predicted a 4 or 5 win season for them this year and I still expect that.

Dallas gets right this week. Big week for either Dez or Zeke. I imagine Dez gets forced the ball more because Dallas coaches always seem to get persuaded by the media when they catch heat for playcalling.

The only thing they have is wide receiver depth. Other than that, yeah, a 4-5-6 win team. Agreed.

I'd start Morris but this organization would never do that. It would be like starting Butler over Twill. Not going to happen even though Twill messed up. Leary will never start over Collins again regardless of how bad Collins plays.

Like Archer said in his call in yesterday, you don't earn reps on this team. They are given to you, meaning if Jerry drafted you, you are gonna get the job.

Sadly this is true, not always the best player gets the main role or starting role.

I would play Morris in 1st qtr, and EE in 2nd, then whoever does the best give that RB most of 2nd half.
Morris has the experience, and we really need to win this game!!

Elliott still needs to acclimate to the pro game. His training camp/preseason was sparse. This game is way too important.

Alfred has something to prove.

Doubt we'll see that mainly due to where Zeke was drafted.

I do hope, IF Zeke is struggling, we do get Morris in the game for more than two series.

I think Zeke was just too hyped up for the game and tried too hard to make a big splash. He just wasn't patient enough.

Watching that MNF game, DeAngelo Williams isn't as fast as Zeke, but he ran VERY smart and showed plenty of patience, letting holes open up and using his vision to find his way through.

Williams' longest run was 17yds... with his speed, once through the Oline, Zeke can break away for well more than 17 yards. He just has to let the Oline do its job.

I think people in this thread are box score scouting. Zeke was frequently getting met in the back field. The fact that he was getting positive yardage is having a good game when that happens. Morris's runs were better blocked as a group. I'm guessing that didn't have a lot to do with Morris just random happenstance in a small sample size. If this happens for the next 2-3 weeks then its time to start thinking about shaking things up but this is over reacting to a single game.

I'm expecting a good game out of Zeke, a week of practice, some film study on Washington, and he shouldn't have any first game nervousness.

More importantly, he won't have an outstanding DL to go against.
