OK It's been five minutes. Time to talk about Tony Romo again.:)

Seriously, I was hoping to start a thread that would last til Sunday. I would like to get every single member to post their thoughts on his 3.5 games played. Like most fans I've paid close attention to everything written about the guy. But then it hit me, why I do care what Sheffter, King or any other talking head thinks. I CARE WHAT YOU GUYS THINK!
I'll pit the collective knowledge of this board against anyone/group/network/puplication. Now that I've blown enough smoke up your collective butts, let the crtiques begin. I plan to read every single post.

I'll go first.
Overall he has exceeded my expectations.
Starting to think his greatest strength is his ability to see the whole field and find an open guy. Super quick release, very accurate and great pocket awareness with excellent ability to move around within it.
We all know the numbers and that numbers don't tell the whole story. I believe he may be better than his numbers. His 101 QB rating isn't just him. He's not playing in a vacuum. He has teammates and opponents.
A RB can take a screen pass 80 yards and pad a QB's stats. An OL can offer great protection and fule a dominant running game. Skill players can catch everything thrown to them. A QB can face inferior opponents over a 3-4 game stretch. Does anyone here think any of this applies to Romo over the last month? I contend that the contribution of his team has been a slight negative toward his overall performance and the overall level of competition has been at least average.
Starting to think he's better than we think. Have yet to find any real flaws.

He has definitely exceeded my expectations. I think what he lacks in arm strength, he makes up for in accuracy and his quick decision-making skills. That's not to say he doesn't have a good arm. It's definitely NFL-worthy, but it's not 1st round QB quality.

All in all though, I think we may have found our QB of the future.

He has impressed me alot. I got on his bandwagon right after that Seattle pre-season game.

He has ALOT of great qualities about him, with only a few weaknesses.

Romo isn't the kind of QB IMO that needs a great QB rating to be successful. He remind sme a little of Tom Brady in that aspect. Brady never has had a great QB rating, but he was just winning games. Romo kinda reminds me of that. I dotn expect him to drop off. He may not have a 90+ qb rating every game, but im guessing his play will keep us in every game we play

Romo reminds me of the type of person that sees an opportunity that will pay off for him, and he knows what it's all about now...and he is genuinely having fun!

He also remindes me of the cat that ate the canary...

As a matter of fact, I think the whole team knows that..

His ability to see a game reminds me of one other "not such a strong" arm QB that came thru here for a SB ring. Bernie Kosar. He can make all the throws but he can also make things happen buying time with his feet. His enthusiasm reminds of John Elway always full of energy ready to show that the last incompletion was a fluke and the the last big play will on be dwarfed by the next, always smiling in the huddle and never looses composure regardless of the situation.

Have you ever heard of Joe Montana? John Elway? Peyton Manning? Tom Brady? Garbage compared to Romo.

After the first game or two, I was very cautious....I mean, Carter and Hutch both had their "flashes".

But both Hutch and Carter quickly came down to earth....hard.....Carter had more ups than Hutch.....but both would look totally inept at times.

So far, Romo hasn't looked lost. That is encouraging.

I'm not ready to say he'll be a star, and keep playing at this high of a level, but I think he's ,at worst, a solid NFL QB.

If he leads us to a division title, then he'll approach legend status.

If he wins this Sunday and shags Jessica he will have secured it.:D

When he talks in the huddle everyone looks at him. I haven't seen that trust since Aikman.

He has such poise, pocket presense, and a feel for pressure and I haven't seen that since Staubach.

I questioned his arm strength but I saw a rifle shot to TO against WAS.

The single greatest ability he has is keeping plays alive and allowing our weapons more time to get open. We are killing defenses with that alone. Just think how many 3rd and long we have got the 1st on.

I wanna see him not be lazy and keep a good solid throwing motion. This will cut down on some of the wobblers he threw against ARI. That is the one thing I hope he doesn't do because Favre is a master at it and not in a good way.

It's obvious we've found our quarterback. Every pass Romo makes is with purpose. He can make all the throws. He has the sixth sense that you can't coach when he senses the rush and reacts perfectly.

The most impressive thing about Romo is how accurate he is when he is under pressure. He can have a guy hanging on his back yet he is able to still throw the ball with great accuracy.

I still would like to see him do play well for a full season before anointing him to be the next great Cowboys QB. Only because I thought J. Jones was going to the next E. Smith after his great rookie year. And even though I think J. Jones is a very good back, he's no E. Smith.

Remember when Bledsoe was QB the media was calling our OL "THE TURNSTYLE". Now our OL is solid if not good. What a diffrence a QB makes. I'm excited and I think (hopefully ) we found our QB of the future. Go Romo. Go Cowboys.

I'm kinda in a quandry.

Tony has done really well, but I struggle with whether he's that good or if Bledsoe was that bad. I'm seeing Jason Witten and Fasano at times now involved with this offense.

-I'm seeing Owens becoming the player we all thought he would be, in that he's now a focal point of the offense.

-I see the blocking of the OL taking the next step. A quarterback with confidence breeds confidence within the OL. I remember Larry Allen talking about the same thing in regards to a good running back saying that the OL has some incentive to block for Julius rather than Hambrick.

-I see a quarterback that is able to read defenses and knows exactly what they're planning to do. Rather than force the ball to the first receiver, take a sack, throw away, or throw a pick ala Bledsoe, there's a chance the open man might get a look.

-I see a quarterback that can sense pressure and move around accordingly. He's not what I'd call a "scrambler" but he does have "mobility". He's picked up many first downs that would've been sacks or throw aways if #11 was in there.

-I see a quarterback that is calm and cool under pressure. That last drive to setup the blocked FG epitomized this. That pass to Witten was unbelievable. I don't think we'd be in that situation with the other 30 or so QB's that have been here since Troy.

-I see a quarterback that isn't without flaws, however these flaws will be nullified with more experience. Nobody's perfect...take a look at Tom Brady over the last month or so.

-Romo will have a bad game. He'll have that game that Troy had vs. the Giants (5 int's). We just need the rest of the Cowboys to be able to help him out likes he's helped them so far.

It's going to be exciting. Cowboys fans finally have a quarterback and we're lucky too. There's many teams that have yet to find a franchise quarterback...period.

Its just exciting to know we got a chance on every down and distance. Bill Parcells will still call a draw play on 3rd and 23, but on 3rd and 17 we just might pick it up. With Bledsoe, 3rd and 8 looked very improbable.

I can never get enough Romo talk. Romo is calm, cool, very prepared and decisive with where he's going, has a knack for feeling the rush without looking at it, extremely quick release very accurate, just has IT!

He will have some bad games, but it's obvious from his 1st 3 games, he can play in this league.

I am very surprised with Romo. He does not look like the undrafted QB we saw a few years back or even last year.

If I was looking for the next franchise QB I would look first for the ability to see the field and break down the defense. This is where Romo has greatly shocked me. He is making some really great reads that some veterans do not make i.e. Bledsoe.

Second I would look for accuracy. The ball has to get to the receiver so he can catch it. Seems simple of course but we all know that many teams struggle in finding an accurate passer? Again Romo has exceeded my expectations in placing the ball where it needs to go. I think he can improve but he far surpasses previous QBs we have had recently. He already surpasses some veterans.

Third is arm strength. I think Romo is average to above average here. It seems he can make most throws. I am please but not overwhelmed.

Overall, I think he has the tools to be a starting QB in the league. He reminds me of Steve Young actually. He is smart, agile, accurate and a leader.

I did not think I would be sold on him in just three games but I have bought into the moxie.

It was solid to good before Bledsoe went down. People can just look at a stat line and see it now, rather that actually watch the games.
