Statistically we have the 7th best offensive line.

Whether it ends up that way or not, early indications are it's indeed possible to fill interior OL positions with developed players from the middle rounds and below and/or street free agents. We can all agree on that now, can we?

7th in run blocking. No doubt STL a large part of that seeing how almost half the teams rushing yards came in that one game.

The OL play is better than last year, no doubt. I think another factor in play is that Romo is getting rid of the ball very quickly. PFF has his time to attempt 1/4th of a second faster than last year.

I think better play and the system being designed to get rid of the ball quickly has allowed the OL to maximize their production. Unfortunately it appears as though the result of the 2nd part is also far less shots downfield. It'll be interesting to see how they perform if and when Romo has to hold the ball a little longer to let his WRs get downfield.

All in all I'm pretty encouraged by the OL play. Frederick has been a very nice addition to the OL.

As Waters gets into shape the offensive lien will get better.

just how many years did that take compared to other teams using high picks and more money? How many years did we waste of Romo's, Ware's, Witten's prime doing it?

The Cowboys need to be the best o-line in NFL today and blow the Broncos back 5 yards every time we snap the ball. Go COWBOYS!!!!!!!

We have 2 1st round picks on the o line so not sure what you're getting at. And you can't pretend like there are a bunch of Brian Waters walking around the street, that was a somewhat lucky pick up. If Berny was still starting our o line would still be sub par.

So, can you build a line with 1, maybe 2, late round developmental guys? Sure. Can you build a successful offensive line with 5 guys like that? Probably not, and definitely when you have a GM of our quality.

The line has exceeded my expectations. I have really been impressed with them this year. I hope they keep it up.

Almost four years-2009 the team had the SECOND best rated oline in football.

Colombo/Kosier got hurt, Davis got lazy, Flozell got old, Montrae Holland went back to being Holland, Doug Free is the holdover.

I would say that isn't bad actually.

The two first rounders were already here while you guys were doing the offseason bellyaching. Don't try to steal my line now. There was more than Brian Waters sitting around able to help us in VFA this offseason, and we all know it.

And, no, you don't try to fill the premium OL positions with middle round picks and street free agents, but then I never said we should. You fill the OG spots this way because it's been demonstrated over and over hat it's possible to do so.

The good news is most would agree with that statement.

The bad news is our expectations were that our line would only be slightly better than last years.

Statistically Romo is one of the best QB's EVER in the 4th quarter. What's it got us?

I hate stats and I'm sick of hearing about them.

Livings and Berny aren't what I would call success stories. The jury is still out on Leary and Waters.

Yeah, also statistically Austin played all 16 games for us last year and got almost 1000 yards... How did that work out, statistically speaking This an ongoing argument RoyTheHammer and I are having in another thread :D
