Steak n Shake goofs on Colts flier

Nov 16, 2006 12:36 PM

Indianapolis - Colts fans may do a double-take when they receive a flier from Steak n Shake this week.

The Indianapolis-based restaurant sent out a mailer to people in Central Indiana, saying Steak n Shake is a "proud sponsor of the Dallas Cowboys."

The flier also promotes the new Cowboys meal and a Cowboys "side by side" milk shake. It's interesting timing considering the Colts play the Cowboys this Sunday.

Steak n Shake is apologizing for the fumble. The restaurant is offering a free milk shake of any flavor from 10am to 10pm on Sunday. You have to be a dine-in customer and you must wear Colts gear.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought that was the new name for Barber and Jones as well. I live in downtown Indy, and there is a steak and shake two blocks from the RCA dome. Needless to say Sunday I'll be making a trip to Steak and Shake in my Roy jersey.

And THAT is why Jerry Jones is a marketing genius. Anyone who can pull that off is simply brilliant!

I think Steak n Shake also sponsors the Colts...someone might get fired.

Could that have been their plan all along?

Could it have been a marketing scheme?

They attract all this attention, then they offer a free shake for "dine-in" customers. Good way of getting business/customers.

That depends on how lean the steak is. Stay away from marbled fat.
It also depends on the type of shake he is making.

The "Lean" steak and "healthy" shake are actually recommended by most nutrionists....
