i've been an ardent fan since 1969 and if the Cowboys never win anything again in my lifetime... it's STILL been a pretty good lifetime. i consider myself quite lucky when i think about fans of teams in cleveland, philadelphia, etc.

I'm sure fans of Philly and Cleveland who were alive in the 50's and 60's felt the same way. I understand what you're saying but it's just so frustrating when you remember how the team used to be. It used to be not making a SB was a disappointed season. Now I'd be happy to just get to an NFC Championship Game.

Me since 1971 and I feel the same way, just feel sorry for this younger generation who've only seen 2 playoff wins.

We'll take the record back next year just like we did after beating the Lions last year.

I agree with the head hunting penalty. The other should have been offsetting. Now way a Pittsburgh coach should have been allowed on the field to talk smack. Joey Porter was a great player for them but also well known as a instigator/Hot head. Shame the Zebra's basically handed Pittsburgh the game in the end.

Man... If they get to 7 SBs..... Ugh!

Ben R. has a separated shoulder. The degree of the separation is TBD, but he will be limited no matter what the grade. Anything can happen of course, but if Denver only has to cover the first 20 yards of the field, it will make it much easier for them, assuming of course Ben plays. I think he might be out.

Take a moment and re-read the above statement. Do you understand how ridiculous that is?

Those are the words of someone who clearly lost perspective somewhere along the way.

Ummm. I lived through those years. That's the way it used to be. Like it or not mediocrity was not an option back then. It's not the same anymore. Now we're happy if we can somehow win a mediocre division.

Believe it or not, I think JG wins that game. 1:25 left, JG takes a knee 3 times, makes Pitt use their timeouts, kicks the FG. Make it, you have a 4 point lead with a minute left and Pitt can't stop the clock. Miss it, you still have the 1 point lead with Pitt on their own 20 and no timeouts.

RB can't fumble; defense can't give up 30 yards in penalties during a clock stoppage and 18 seconds left, but the coach allowed for running the ball at all and risking catastrophe....there's a reason the victory formation exists.

Right. You lived through those years, and in doing so you lost perspective.

I'm certain we'll have to agree to disagree, but I want to emphasize how ridiculous that statement (the one I originally quoted) is.

It's on par with a spoiled child who who gets everything they want for Christmas, every year. Then the one year where they don't, it's classified as a "disappointment". There's no appreciation for the things that they did get, or all of the things they got previous years. They've become ENTITLED. It's not something to be proud of.

There are Dallas Cowboys fans who, for whatever bizarre reason, think they "deserve" more than fans of other franchises. It's nonsense. And it shows a lack of appreciation for how special and unique all of those SB appearances and SB wins actually were.

The statement about SB appearances is a little crazy since we were once known as the team that couldn't win the big one or even get to the big one due to a series of frustrations with both Green Bay and Cleveland. However, our true spoiling was when Tom Landry had us in the playoffs 17 of 18 years....try to let that sink in. The hoodie and NE can't even imagine what that's like.

I remember the days when we would say the reason we had the hole in the roof was so God could watch his favorite team. lol I agree with you that we were spoiled. I wish we could be spoiled again. Wonderful days.
