linemen getting paid this year...

think this could possibly up Davis' asking price since he is seeing everyone else is getting paid big?

I hope they're moving him to tackle... who would pay that much for a guard.

When you have cap room like they do, what are they going to do?

How about this... They can tell the Cleveland fans

"Sorry where are going to continue to be 35 million under the cap because there just isn't anybody out there"

I dont think so. They have to overspend to give them a better chance to win.

overspending doesnt insure you have a better chance to win..the teams that win every yr are the teams that make smart use of their cap

Steinbach isnt worth half what he signed for

If Dockery got that kind of money from the Bills, then CERTAINLY Steinbach deserves more.

If they have needs at that position and money available, its an upgrade. It doesn't mean they will win more games but as a GM you have to give your team the best shot at winning with upgrading your personnel.

When you have serious cap room, one bad deal wont kill you. Especially if that 17 million is paid early in his deal or upfront.

I've read that most teams thought that Steinbach could play guard, tackle or even center and be one of the best players in the league at any of those positions. So, I don't think this contract is out of control.

Also, when you pair Steinbach with LeCharles Bentley then you are going to have a pretty good line.

Too bad the Browns don't have a quality QB or a quality RB for the line to block for.
