Ladies Event I meant to say....

She called me this morning at 2:00 am (I was awake) from Biloxi where the World Poker tour is and told me she made the final table in the Ladies Tournament No Limit Hold-em. She is third in chips. If she wins, she is going to play in the $10,000 buy in for the big tournament against all the big guys. Keeping my fingers crossed. She is my future retirement. :)

I have no doubt she will be sitting at the WSOP final table one day. Her Dad and Mom have it in their DNA.

good news and bad news. The bad news is she came in 3rd. The good news is that she chopped the winnings with 1st and 2nd so she came out the same in money as the 1st place winner. Have not had a chance to talk to her much. Every time she calls, somebody comes by at the Casino to talk to her.

Usually when a poker tourney starts getting down to 4 or 5 players they all start discussing a chop. The one with the most chips usually holds out for the highest percentage but tonight my kid said they were all around the same amount of chips and instead of them all risking third, they chopped and won around $15,000 each. They then continued playing for the bracelet and a $3500 buy-in to a WPT event in Vegas. That is pretty standard I think in any poker tourney. She won't play in teh $10,000 event tho on Wednesday. She is driving back home tomorrow. Her Dad will be playing. That event pays over 1 million to first place.

Gambling is all fun and games when you win.

Pure torture when you lose.

I saw a guy go from one extreme to the other and back. He wasn't all that great and usually lost.

One time he went up about 14K in a week in online poker.

Next week it was gone.

I swear to god I have never seen a more sleep deprived person in my life. Dude looked practically dead at all times. Addicted to something he sucks at. I guess it would be like being a Lions fan and having to pay a thousand dollars for every time they lost.

apparently her good luck has rubbed off on her Dad. He is at the final table with 5 others at the WPT main tournament. 1st prize pays over 1 million. He was third in chips when they ended the session for this evening.

NOw I have to go to the Step-daughters house and keep the grandson while she travels back to Biloxi to support her Dad. This even will be televised later this year.

Play picks up again Saturday afternoon.
