Stephen A. dismisses Jerry Jones' goal of winning most SB rings

I don't like Steve A
But he's not wrong Jerry's not seeing another Super bowl.

What's even sadder neither are we by the time the Joneses are done with this team it's going to be somewhere around 2075.

There are just too many Jones for us to outlast.
He can't even see a NFCCG!
No way he seeing a SB trophy!
Just more blowing smoke.

Nothing wrong with having outrageous goals. I hope to be the richest man in the world before I retire. Come on Burger King help me out.

Signing Pickens or not is not getting the Cowboys a Super Bowl. If anything signing him, is signing the fans up for more of the same.

Another dog and pony show. With all hat no cattle.
Playing on the tag would be worst case scenario.

SAS is absolutely correct. I'm not even a fan of his. But he is saying what every Cowboys fan knows. This was once a storied and proud franchise. SB or bust was always the expectation. It's sad what has happened. No way no how should a team with this history go 30 years without an NFC title game appeareance. It's an insult to the fans, past greats, and players who do everything to win. Only for said players to be held back by the Phillips & Garrett's of the NFL.

Jerry wants to win on his terms. That doesn't work in this day and age. You either hire a great HC/GM and get out of the way. Or, keep doing what you are doing. He prefers the latter. Thus, no SB in our future.

I think you're certainly right about him wanting to be a celebrity. He wants to win - but how he defines that is different from us - winning to him is being atop that Forbes list, it's television ratings, it's the cash register ringing. As far as winning football games, especially playoff games, sure he wants to, but winning them is absolutely secondary in his world to winning those other things foremost.

And as far as being "loved" - I don't know about that one. He kind of sees all attention as good attention. So as long as it's attention, I don't think he cares at all whether it's love or contempt and anger. It's attention, in his mind, and he craves it like an addict, to the detriment of the Dallas Cowboys team.
He can't have both. He knows it deep down. Or, he really is delusional. He can have the Rockstar treatment. But it won't help the team win a SB. Or, he hires a legit GM who picks his coaches, players etc. And it increases the likelihood of a SB win. All at the expense of him not being a rockstar.

Im pushing 40

I havent seen a sb or nfc title game since i was 8….Third grade, at the bus stop ready to fight the other kid who said i cheered for the steelers not the cowboys

I dont think imma ever see one again

of course he does. another person who doesnt think but a few clips and good PR and they are all over it.

I could be carrying an NFL football down the street wearing a cowboy jersey and a ball cap with the Cowboys logo and if I bumped into Gerald walking down the street, not only would I NOT say hello I would NOT ask for his autograph on any of my Cowboys merch - even a piece of paper for that matter
I’d keep walking like he wasn’t even there. I try to avoid sociopaths they can be dangerous. :muttley:
He’s a rockstar legend in his own mind.

I’ve only got two autographs from NFL players. The first is Lance Rentzel who was actually shocked that I remembered who he was but very nice and the second is Washington Commanders number 10 on the 1992 Super Bowl team Jeff Rutledge.

Brian Shottenheimer makes 4.5 million per year. Ben Johnson makes 13 million per year. That’s all you need to know to figure out if Jerry is serious. Could improve this team every year without even impacting the salary cap and they choose not to spend the money.

With all of the opinions that are already posted here, why would I need his  we all know Jerry would like to win as long as it's done his way, and he get credit for it at every turn. The guy already signs autographs like a rockstar. He wants to win, he wants to be a celebrity, and he wants to be loved.
Agree, except for "he wants to win".

No he doesn't. He knows he sucks as a GM and has admitted it publicly. If he wanted to win he's hire a top GM. As long as he remains the GM, NO, he absolutley doesn't care about winning.

You got a chance because you could get past Steven and at that point there's always a possibility the team could be sold
