You saying he's done over and over again doesn't make him so. He's almost certainly going to return this year and play so you may as well just start dealing with it now. The team will have to take a serious look at how effective he can still be going forward after this year, but their fate is tied to him in 2016 (unless Dak ends up being a fluke of near biblical proportions).

But, on the team doesn't have to mean on the field. There comes a time when you stop trying to rely on the unreliable.

That doesn't really jibe with what Jerry has said (I know, I know)... his quote is "This is nowhere near the issue he had last year (clavicle), not even in the same league as far as we're concerned." He missed 8 games I believe last year, so I don't know how what Jerry said would add up with him missing basically the same time.

Yeah, but how does anything Jerry says "add up"? He also said that they didn't feel Romo needed an X-Ray.

stephen jones on dak: "we're not naive to think a rookie qb can do what he's done in the preseason, but he makes our team feel good."

This sounds to me like they want to get a vet and start him over Dak !! lol if they do that I will be angry.
I know jerry doesnt trust players that havent played actual season games.

The seattle game was like a season game for 1 half, so I think Dak showed he could handle it.

I think they are afraid to start game one with Dak or they would have said he is the starter already??
So what we may get is another cassel starting wk 1 having no time in the system or with WR etc.

That's what I'm worried about now. Some stupid, ******** panic move to bring in somebody. Prescott has looked great in this preseason, give him his chance.

If you want to sign a vet backup off of waivers, I'm fine with that. Just don't panic and give up resources when it won't make a difference anyway.

A premium DT or DE in the first. Uber athletic pass catching TE in the second. Solid LB in the third. CB/S hybrid in the fourth.

Sounds about right.

Safety or LB should be 2nd but you know every other year they have to draft a TE in the 2nd.

This is bad for our prospects this season but it's probably a positive for us long term. Tony is done, his body can't take it anymore. The sooner we move on the better our chances are next year and beyond.

We'll be okay with Dak. Like Stephen said, the team really responds to him and he (along with Elliott) can do a lot of damage on the ground. That is going to open things up in the passing game way more than it is for most rookies.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing the future.
I'm with you. I'm bummed out about Romo but we should still be excited about the offense with Dak. The guy has shown that he can stand in there and deliver the ball. Seattle was not playing Vanilla defenses against him. I know he'll have some rookie mistakes but he's got playmakers all around him. At least it's not last year where we knew we had no chance because of the backup QB

As a lifelong Cowboys fan, I am all in on Dak. I've been watching film on him from college and the Sr Bowl. Also Gruden's camp. I can see why he was a considered a project guy but I also see he has the talent, accuracy and intangibles to be a starter in his league. The stars have aligned for him and this is his chance. I believe he will cash in on this opportunity and never look back.

Drafted in the LATE 4th as a developmental QB. Moore has an injury and is given the chance to become the number 2. Passes every test with flying colors. Looks like a 4th year starter minus a few miscues. Declares that he wants to start for this organization. Romo goes down and he is given the chance to do just that. He will win games and look good doing it.

We'll get through this quickly means rushing Romo back. Same as last year.

Since none of us have seen the xray, we can't say for certain, but it doesn't sound like there is a risk of reinjury. From the doctors comments it sounds like he broke a wing tip. This normally doesn't have any long term effects. It's just a matter of when the pain starts to dissipate.
