He would be paid whatever his signed states.
I just thought you might know how much in Dollars. I was just curios.

I hate the PUP rules. It has always seemed wacky to me that a player that gets injured in training camp can't go on the PUP. Even if they could just go on it for a couple of weeks it would be really helpful because spots almost always open up after a couple of weeks into the season. There's a high probability that there are going to be injured players in training camp because it's a multiple week process. I realize that the 7 inactive players on game day are basically the short term IR, but there are going to be a lot more injuries in the many weeks of the preseason than there will be from 1 week to the next week in the regular season. It just creates this silly cycle where teams train players in their systems all off-season and then that player gets claimed by another team. Then the next week the team that lost a player to waivers ends up signing another player off waivers from another team and the process just keeps repeating and the players keep getting moved from one scheme to the next and one coaching staff to the next.

Cut him with an injury settlement contingent on passing a physical before TC next year. An injury settlement can be adaptable.
If they want to put Johnson on IR, I don't see the big deal. It's not our money nor does in any way does it limit the Cowboys roster.
I could be wrong, but I thought he would have to make the 53 before they put him on IR. That means that they would have to expose another player to waivers before putting Johnson on waivers and bringing back the other player. With as much concern as I have seen about exposing players like Vaughan to waivers, it could be a somewhat harmful move. Other than that (or if I am wrong), I am fine with giving him one last chance to get his hamstring issues worked out before giving up on him.
They can put guys on IR at any point. Ben Malena, Sean Lee and Korey Lindsey have all been put on IR (so far) this season.
This year he has a base salary of $495,000
Asked if he was surprised by the speed of Spencer’s recovery, Jones responded, “No. I would never underestimate Spencer. He’s a professional athlete. He’s a pro. Football is important to him and he knows he can get back and play at a high level. And if and when he does it will be a huge boost for us.”
Good work if you can get it
Did we not hear the almost identical thing last season and he missed the opener and then limped through the KC game before being shut down?
How much would that cost? I know his salary now. But how do injury settlements work...if you know?
Only it prolongs the "will he actually play, yuh know if he does he is really really good" dialogue to continue yet another season.
It also gives them the illusion that "if" he returns the safety position might be okay.
They need to understand how bankrupt that position is, not continue to cross their fingers.
I have never seen anything like what he is suggesting. Three consecutive years on IR for what are not really crippling injuries. He flips a hamstring here or there and nobody can figure out why.
Even if it was a first round choice, anyone recall that happening? I cannot.
I think there is something to lose, the integrity of locker room (I just made up that term). Seriously though, giving this type of special treatment to an individual who has literally done NOTHING for this organization could rub some players the wrong way.
That would be crazy if they put Johnson on IR again.
