The point differential when you are the "wantor" rather than the "wantee".

I'm sure the Commanders weren't desperate to trade the pick.

Everyone knows these trades aren't in Madden right? Values are not gna be exact every time. Plus it was div rival. I would have rather not given to Skins but if you got a first round grade on a guy at a possition of need and an opportunity to get him you do it.

If he plays well, the over pay issue will be forgotten...after seeing his highlight film, I worry more about off-the field issues more than production.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/draft/draft-trade-chart/

34 pick = 560 points

47 pick = 430 points
78 pick = 200 points

630 points - 560 points = 70 points

70 points = 112 pick

I don't know what Jerry's chart has.

The tough thing about the trade is that the Jimmy Johnson chart (the one your numbers come from) is going to be the kindest to the Cowboys on this trade of all the charts floating around out there. The Jimmy chart values higher picks more than the other charts do.

So according to the other charts, the trade is going to look even worse value wise from the Cowboys end.

Like others are saying, I like the player, and if they had a first round grade on him, I understand wanting him here. I hope he's a beast. I hope I'm ecstatic about this trade in two years. But that was really expensive. It really plays against the idea to diversify your risks and give yourself as many rolls at the table as possible.

I heard on the radio that last year both Dallas and SF "lost" on points on their own respective charts. Means nothing.
