They'll have a tough time becoming a consistent contender if they don't fix the secondary. Adding cheap parts isn't going to get it done.
That and more importantly the dline

Pay Josh Norman $16 mil...."too expensive"
Pay Brandon Carr $14 mil...."steal of a deal"
LOL
Different philosophies now. Notice they have been trying to get out of that contract the last two years.

Apparently not trying hard enough.
The year isn't done yet.
No thanks. I'd rather focus on the front 7. Besides, our biggest need in the secondary is a safety.
I would say they are both equal in need. Unless you think Claiborne locking down a starting CB spot is a good thing.
CB is a need. But it isn't a position I want to deal out monster free agent money for. Or a high draft pick for that matter. Scandrick is coming back and Jones is going into his 2nd year. Those two guys alone will be good DBs.

I haven't seen enough of Norman who burst on the scene last season to know how good he really is but if you can get a lockdown corner which is something this team hasn't had in years they would be worth the money. Scandrick is coming off a significant knee injury so who knows if he'll return to form or not and Jones is slated to play safety so we need a solid corner.
LOL.
I was just thinking that. Norman, who is actually good, too pricey. Carr, who is not good, just about right.
He is 28 and an All Pro CB...that is what they get
