“I don’t see that happening. We certainly had that experiment, and unfortunately it didn’t work out,” Jones said. “We’ve moved on and we think we’ve got some good football players on our defensive line that should only get better. They’re young. I’m certainly not naive, I know we don’t have proven production on that defensive line as we sit here today, but I do think we have some good athletes that are only going to get better. We’ll certainly keep our eyes peeled to see if there’s anyone else who makes sense to add to that group."

Yeah, was there anyone who thought there was a chance he'd be back?

I think it would be naive to believe the team didn't want the Hardy situation to work out. Players with his kind of ability are hard to find, and the fact that he is still unsigned means that Dallas could have gotten him back if it wanted him and probably for less than a player with his skills would normally receive.

Other than Lawrence, he would easily be the best pass rusher on the team.

That's pretty damning of the DE situation as it stands today.

What's damning on this team and has been for years now that effects the pass rush from the outside is that there's no dominate inside monster penetrating defensive tackle that gets the quarterback off his five or seven step drop in the pocket for which the defense ends clean up with a sack..

That smacks a little of excuse making. The DEs in Dallas, at least at this point, aren't good enough. If you think they are and just need a stud DT penetrating to turn our DEs into edge rushing fiends, have at it.

Cowboys aren't willing to pay Hardy what he made last year and they know Hardy probably would want around the same amount of money. It doesn't make since to bring him back knowing he would probably be disgruntled playing for the minimum.

The sad part is we could really use him this year.

I didn't think we were in that desperate of mode to bring him in last year especially with his price tag.

Last year we should have used Gregory more who isn't an option this year.

not excuse, FACT.....Watch any playoff or Superbowl games from the defensive line of the 90's cowboys....and how disruptive Maryland, Jeffcoat,, Lett, Castillas, and Hennings were inside and how many Sacks, Jones, Tolbert and Haley got cleaning up from a Quarterback being moved off his spot in the pocket from pressure up the middle where the offensive tackles are expecting the quarterback to be......Glover was the last real consistent inside presence this team had other than Ratliff.....This team rarely gets pressure up the middle..

Blah.. Who cares at this point.

The media bad mouthed him... We got through that part of it and evidently he was a pain in the neck to work with for his teammates.
