"Whatever Daddy says! Right Daddy?"
Good one and here’s another that Randy Galloway gave him.

Cowboys currently have 4 Safeties active on the roster. 2 Free Safeties (Xavier Woods & Darian Thompson) and 2 Strong Safeties (Jeff Heath & Donovan Wilson). Kavon Frazier (Strong Safety) is currently on IR.

It would take at least a 1st or 2nd round pick, plus potentially an extra mid-to-late round pick, to pick up by trade a young stud Safety (depending whether a Strong or Free). Or the Cowboys could look for an old veteran Safety where it might not cost them such a costly high pick, but they certainly would pick up a heftier veteran contract where such a veteran is very likely in his last years, is much slower and banged up due to age and wear & tear, and such a veteran would likely only be brought in for a year or two at the most.

Kind of hard to find a Safety worth trading for this time of the year.
Yep

Our brain trust obviously didn’t see Safety as a priority in off season as we passed pretty much in draft early on and in Free Agency on any big names.

But yet we can continue getting gashed up the middle in running game. Oh well .. lol

Greg, this is why several of us disliked the Trysten Hill pick in the 2nd round (over-drafted) when young Safeties like Nassir Adderley, Taylor Rapp and especially Juan Thornhill were available. Trysten Hill is not even a hole-plugging DT. He gets pushed around like a doll, and has been inactive and useless this season because of that. A hole-plugging DT could have been had in the later rounds. Imagine if the Cowboys had picked up S Juan Thornhill who is now starting and playing very well for the Chiefs? We wouldn't have a problem at the Safety position.

For as good at times the Cowboys have made picks in the draft, they certainly have crapped the bed with costly picks like Trysten Hill (2nd round) and the now departed with no compensation Taco Charlton (1st round). Terrible early round picks like these, that should be for instant starters, is what has hurt our D in recent years and continues to hurt us.

You can’t afford to miss on top picks as often as we have. The fact we’ve hit on some is only reason we’re competitive.

I'd say Donovan Wilson and Darian Thompson have enough talent to make us proud next year. Just remains to be seen, though! ;)

Completely ok with them taking on big money contract especially if its only 1-2 years. The issue gets complicated since our safeties aren't relegated to those 2 defined roles. Strong safety ends up as the single high safety in some coverages. While i get that it's unlikely if we could find some help at that position it could really boost this defense for a run.

Its incredible isn’t it how many fans think they are so much smarter than the professionals that have been doing this for decades? Also, cracks me up when fans say they are more “invested” in this team that the fo....the most invested person on this planet, both emotionally and financially, is jerry Jones

People are just sick of losing....a Super Bowl or at least an nfc championship game would do wonders for the fan base

I think the problem is that when Dallas does lose a game, they lose it ugly.

I’m certainly glad Stephen has taken over from Jerry. We’re looking so much better this year. Lol
