I dont really see where this holds a ton of merit to be honest. Of course they weren't going to be big players because they couldn't be big players. It didn't matter if they wanted to or not. Without working out new deals for Romo and Spencer they were simply never going to have the room to be players.

So him acting like Dallas has chosen to sit this out and not be players is quite frankly a slap in the face to anyone with a functional brain.

I'm sure that the Cypriots had no intention of not taxing deposits this year either.

They did, they chose to keep Anthony Spencer with the franchise tag rather than spend that ten million elsewhere. Now I think he also thought Romo's deal would be done and they would have that money also.
True Romo's deal seems to be taking a while

Maybe. But there really doesn't seem to be an indication up to this point that they've tried to get a deal done with Romo.

I think they were in no hurry up to this point because they know the first week of free agency is a feeding frenzy and weren't planning to do any high-priced shopping. No use rushing to free up the money if you aren't planning to spend it yet.

If the reports are to be believed, it seems Dallas is starting to work toward Romo's extension now, which I believe is an indication that the Cowboys are ready to do a little value shopping.

Glad to see that someone else has one.

Some seem to buy whatever the Jones boys are selling - hook, line, and sinker.

Even when staring cap hell in the face, they refuse to see it.

And anyone needing to know why deals aren't getting done for Romo and Spencer need only see that the players and their agents know they have the Cowboys over a barrel, not the other way around.

Both are set to be paid very well for 2013 and they don't need the money immediately, unlike the Cowboys.

But leave it to the Jones to sell things like this is just what they had in mind.

So your intention was to pay Doug Free 'Jake Long' level money to allow 7 sacks and be among the league's most-penalized linemen?

And you meant to pay Spencer $10.6 million in a year when comparable free agents are signing for less than half that?

Have to say fellas, that' one heckuva plan you've got there, can't imagine why it hasn't worked so far...
