You are actually very right in that assumption. That's exactly the way it went down. He got those preseason reps in an effort to showcase him for a potential trade. That never happened. But it has to be tough for someone to do well at their job and then have it not matter one bit.

    Absolutely.

Make no mistake, my blame for Marinelli in no way absolves Taco of his own share of it.

Did Rod Marinelli "predict" it when he campaigned for the guy? Do we blame Taco for being who he always was, or do we blame the guy that mistakenly thought he could "change" that guy?

That doesn't mean his attitude didn't suck though. I would be happy to see the team move on from Marinelli, but one gripe I do not have with him is his desire and passion, and I have to believe if Taco had shown that Rod would have been able to get along with him.

Taco and Marinelli didn't see eye to eye?

Who truly cares at this point? The bottom line is Marinelli wanted Taco in Dallas, and he did his best to persuade the Front Office into passing up on TJ Watt for this horrible pick named Taco Charlton.

What a horrible and extremely wasteful pick. Who is next, Trysten Hill? The Cowboys have later round draft picks actually suiting up on the active roster while Trysten Hill stays inactive the past 2 weeks. Will Trysten stay inactive for this Week 3 game coming up against the Dolphins? If he does, why was he drafted so high? To be inactive???

    Marinelli needs to go.

I'll take 19 PPG for the rest of the season, please and thank you.

TJ Watt is a 3-4 OLB who would only have one spot in Dallas - LDE. We already have a guy for that position and we just gave him a 105 Million dollar contract.

Yes you blame Taco for being who he always is, and probably put less faith in Marinelli being able to mold guys like him. But yes, you definitely blame Taco. (imo)

TJ Watt is a pass rusher. He's also played at RDE. Don't confuse yourself thinking he couldn't play RDE in a 4-3 base Defense. He would have fit perfectly in Dallas and would have given the Cowboys the consistent pass rusher at RDE, opposite of Tank, that the Cowboys are still looking for due to their own incompetence and dumb draft picks.

He would certainly be able to rush the passer from RDE, but it wouldn't matter if opponents ran right through him rushing every play.

Have you watched film on TJ, or are you simply talking out of your rear end?

Arguing just to argue, eh? All to make excuses for Marinelli and the Cowboys front office?

19 PPG against two of the worst offenses in the league?

No, I finish the job with Rod that should have already happened. "Less faith" left town last year after his charges got run over, around, and through and got us bounced from the playoffs.

This Taco blunder is the last nail in Marinelli's coffin. (No old jokes there)

    :hammer:

Absolutely. I'd rather keep our 1st rd pick we just drafted 2 years ago than some old man who has no idea what he's doing. He's the biggest fraud on this staff.

But Rod yells and gets mad on the sideline. He is so fiery! We are so lucky to have him.

I can’t wait until Marinelli is gone. He has too much influence in the draft room, IMO. And his defensive scheme is outdated.

I agree, but I will take Marinelli’s side over Taco. I can’t stand players with bad attitudes and from all reports, Taco has one.

Eh, size and strength wise I'm sure he's on par with Gregory. Probably wouldn't be a plus run defender but as long as he produced in getting to the QB I doubt people would bicker too much if he got pushed back on run plays here and there.

Waters way under the bridge and got evaporated by now though.
