For everyone making fun of Tampa taking our players....you should consider that it has more to do with the fact that they want to do the same thing schematically that we do, the verbiage is identical, etc. they are taking what is on the marketplace that matches their defense.

He's not getting our scrubs though lol. Bruce Carter, Henry Melton and Sterling Moore.....nice guys to have for depth.

Carter and Melton aren't getting paid for depth though, they are getting mid-level starter money.

Carter is so hot and cold that I couldn't justify 5 million for him. 3 million maybe, but 5 I want consistency.

Melton is just trying to show that he can play like he did in 2012. He showed flashes but just couldn't maintain. Maybe being next to McCoy will help though.

Good player for the Boys, but limited. I wouldn't be upset had he stayed or left, but it is weird that a guy who competes like he does and is a pretty decent corner overall cannot seem to stick anywhere. Teams also stay away from him as if he were a leper when on the open market.

Exactly.

No way does Carter deserve $5 mil per season. He simply isn't that good (consistently).

Melton was awful vs. the run.

When carter IS good, he is absolutely worth that. He came alive in certain passing downs this season, and I want to give him his due. But he gets lost too often for me to trust him after four years. Maybe he will do better in Tampa, but I wouldn't pay for the risk.

Curious as to what they paid him. Moore is limited in what he does, but he makes up for it by being sound fundamentally and is a very, very low risk player. He will always allow a completion in favor of a sure tackle. Which is good in a pinch - he won't get beat long, but he will allow you to dink & dunk all day.

Guess you didn't see him getting abused including getting beat deep in his last game of the season against GB

Not unexpected....regardless...sorry to see him go:(

Where would we have been without him last year?

we would have been screwed, no two ways about it. I loved his fight, and I wish we could have kept him. Small, not a speedster, but holy moly he played his butt off for us. Wish the dude nothing but the best, just wish he still had a star on his helmet. He'll do fine down there...I hate seeing anyone leave but it does sting to lose him. Thanks Sterling for being here when we needed ya.

BTW, love that avatar and sig, big Boise State guy myself.

What I remember him getting beat on in the GB game was playing man-on-man coverage in crossing routes. Which is about the last thing in the world I ever want to see Sterling Moore covering. If he got beat on a deep route I don't remember it.

Not sure why they never seemed to like this guy. I remember he outplayed all the competition two years ago in the preseason and was released in favor of some guys who ended up getting cut shortly after. Then I believe he was cut one other time before being a big part of the defense last year. And even last year he was our second most consistent CB. I'm not upset because I don't think he was that great to begin with. I just don't understand why he keeps proving himself on the field and keeps getting the short end of the stick. I wish him the best in Tampa. He's earned it.

Wow. Someone with a clue.

Without Sterling last year, we would have been toast thanks to an unreliable Carr and a broke back Claiborne.

The Bucs are becoming Cowboys lite, like the Saints a few years back.
It makes sense in theory. They get guy that already know the defense.

They can afford to overpay for a couple of years to get their defense up to speed while they coach and develop players within the scheme.

Nothing that didn't consistently happen more often with our 6th overall first round draft pick. For a guy we picked up from someone else's waiver wire, I don't see why Moore gets so much slack. He did way more for us than we could have expected
