One year deal at $1.525M for him is what Tampa ended up with. Not bad for a decent 3rd or 4th CB.

yup......stole him.:(

Considering what the Jets just paid Buster Skine.....This is a smash and grab heist

We saw him play the majority of games last year after we beat the Rams.

Didn't really ever see him as a liability at all.

He plays the hardest position to play in the NFL on a team with no pass rush. If he was not good he would've been exposed.

Well he was exposed vs. GB.

Carter and Melton aren't getting paid for depth though, they are getting mid-level starter money.

Carter is so hot and cold that I couldn't justify 5 million for him. 3 million maybe, but 5 I want consistency.

Melton is just trying to show that he can play like he did in 2012. He showed flashes but just couldn't maintain. Maybe being next to McCoy will help though.

I mean its decent money but its not back breaking money. They are some nice talent. I could see if they were taking NIck Hayden from us but they're taking guys who did contribute for us last year.

I guess.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you are just trying to win an argument and not really basing him being exposed as a player on 1 play.

Not trying to argue with.

Just pointing out there were reasons the Cowboys chose not to retain his services.

Bad player? No. Not at all.

Just a limited player who can be replaced.

Someone needs to tell the Bucs our defensive players really aren't that good before they wreck their team

I don't know. It's seems they're dead set on putting together an average defense this year.

It's puzzling. He's exactly the kind of guy who you want as your third or fourth corner option that can step into a starting role in a pinch if need be. But he can't seem to stick anywhere.

I think he's the type of guy you hope to upgrade as the third or fourth option, but is good enough to at least hold down that role in the meantime ... which is why a team like the Bucs would sign him.

I'm assuming Dallas believes it has better options, since it didn't tender him, while Tampa sees him as an upgrade.

He's a gamer, but he's got limited ability athletically. And I bet it doesn't show up all that much in practice, which is why coaches are leery about playing him. Then he comes in in packages or when somebody gets hurt, and he plays solid football.

I think the team really considered him a progress stopper for Patmon, though. Now we need a guy who can come in and give us some snaps in a pinch. I guess that's probably Claiborne, huh?

I really like that player.

I always forget about him when talking about our corners.

This.

I would bet another corner will be drafted early on for the Cowboys.

So you'll end up with:

-Scandrick
-Carr (at a reduced salary)
-Claiborne (when he comes back from injury)
-Patmon
-"Draftee"
-Kid signed from New Orleans

And only four safeties? Church, Wilcox, Heath, and Spillman?

Nothing that didn't consistently happen more often with our 6th overall first round draft pick. For a guy we picked up from someone else's waiver wire, I don't see why Moore gets so much slack. He did way more for us than we could have expected

At least Claiborne had multi picks and scored tds. Hell Claiborne even sealed a victory for us this season before he got hurt by getting a pick
