Steve McNair compared with Dak

Exactly. STEVE air McNair is like 2x the level of Romo. Dak should be compared to Tony since their on the same level with Dak being just a bit better

And yet, McNair in 200 more career attempts managed to throw for 3000 less yards, 75 less TD, and 2 more INT than Romo

I'm glad McNair was twice the qb Romo was. I'd hate to see those numbers if they were closer in talent

If Romo was better why did he never win an MVP? Why will he not be in the hall of famer?

He does remind me of McNabb. McNabb has highs and lows but there are a lot of parallels in play. He also had superior coaching on offense.

Even physicality ( think and durable ).......McNabb didn't miss a lot of games. Can't count the times McNabb beat with his feet and arm. DLmen use to say how hard he was to sack.

Carter was pretty decent once Parcells took over and actually connected on some deep passes. He was an idiot which was the bigger problem.

Yeah, he threw a few missiles in his day. Too bad he was Dez Bryant's brotha from another motha.

Slow down friend

I'm still trying to figure out how Romo (with less passing attempts) threw for 3000 more yards and 75 more touchdowns than a guy who is twice the quarterback he was

you have to let me process all these excellent points you're making before you start lumping more stuff in

Can you show me a picture of romos mvp award?

Exactly ...that was the point of the post. I was going to add stats to back it up .. but I figured it would be funnier to watch most of these clowns responses based off emotion and not facts.
You hit the nail on the head brother!!

I think the comparison to McNair is accurate looking at their respective early careers. McNair had all the same faults but worked hard and made himself a better passer. You can't compare Dak to anyone's late career because he's in his 3rd season but you can compare progression. The book isn't finished , maybe never will be , I'm having my doubts but want to see the rest of this season and next.[/QUOTE

Yeah I'm not sure how McNabb would be looked at 10 years from now or even how is he viewed now....but was a very solid qb. If Dak has a career like McNabb I'd love that.

That’s not the question Willie.

I’m just saying be consistent.

And Dak is nowhere close to quincy either.
The Quincy comparisons hold more weight than the McNair comparisons.

Quincy was a Cowboys QB that wasnt that great here. The same is true for Dak.

Its like comparing Romo and Danny White. They share the legacy in Cowboys history for the most part.

Dak was nothing like McNair unless you want to say his build...

Can you show me a picture of romos mvp award?

So you're saying one really great season trumps an entire career of superior production?

By the way to be clear I'm not disparaging McNair. I think McNair was a tremendous quarterback and great player. I'm merely arguing against your declaration that he was "twice the quarterback" Romo was.

McNair and Romo is a much more realistic comparison than McNair and Dak. Prescott does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath with either one of those guys

This^^^^been saying this awhile. Fans forget or don't care to remember, McNabb was a damn good QB. Nothing pretty or sexy but he knew how to win and he did a lot of winning. In fact, I've said in other threads, if Dak can accomplish had of what McNabb did, we get at least 2 trophies.

We will get at least two trophies if Dak accomplishes half of what a player who accomplished getting zero trophies got? Love that logic. You get a like just for that.

At least we will get to half a Super Bowl. :p

That’s called revisionist history
Take the time to actually compare their first 3 yrs, not their careers
I’m not a big Dak fan but if you compare the first 3 yrs of both it’s not even close or in McNair’s favor

I think that's fair. If we're talking about the first three years, the comparison totally works. Whether or not Dak can develop to a McNair-level QB in time remains to be seen. I'm honestly not sure if he can or not. But that's okay. It's okay to admit you don't know everything. I would love for that to be true. If it is, we have our guy. If it's not, if Dak remains about where he is, then this team needs to be on a search for its next great QB.

How do you know for sure? You don't. IMO the team should bring in competition at QB in the next training camp and see where the chips fall.

Sorry Mcnabb was a game changer, it’s almost as if you never saw the first 7 or 8 years of Mcnabb’s career. He terrorized the Cowboys. Better runner and deep ball passer than Dak or McNair.
Hate to say it but Dak is like 80% of McNair’s ceiling. Dak is just a guy, he really lacks anticipation in the passing game and never steps up in the pocket and seems to be really slow at reading defenses.
Its like you never seen Dak play.

Its like you never seen Dak play.
Your response does not make much sense. I have seen Dak play, he is not comparable to McNabb.
