Still loving Garrett?

Don't people realize that it's a great play call when it works and a terrible play call when it doesn't...execution, spexecution.

Playcalling is as easy as the Jones/Garret relationship...something they like it's Garret making the call, something they hate, Jones.

True. I watched other team lined up in the shotgun from the 2 yard line today including GB with Rodgers and SD and Rivers.

Don't defend every flipping thing the guy does.

He needs to get better as a playcaller.

For the most part he does a really good job but you can't deny he does some off the wall stuff at times that just makes no sense even if the play had worked.

Do you believe he was outcoached?

Alex Smith shouldn't even be on an NFL roster at this point, and they still almost won that game. I think Harbaugh won the chess match today.

This is why I laugh at the people who undervalue Romo...

The only dumb thing off the top of my head that Harbaugh did was turn down that 1st down.

That gave us a chance to win the game.

As a playcaller he is doing a fantastic job with what he's got.

Yes he does and so do other coaches, if there was 1 way to do things defense would not have a hard time defending plays. There are many calls in a game I doubt any of us agree with 100% no matter who the HC is but it is easy for a guy sitting in the living room to make calls than actually doing the job

He is a definite improvement over Wade and I'll leave it at that. I will give him 3 years before I judge one way or another.

If you people all worship Jimmah so much, what are the odds he approves that bull**** gadget play on 3rd down?

I thought harder practices would make the scheme better.
lol

Dude, he didn't hold a gun to Jerry's head to steal the job. If he wasn't ready, then somebody who is ready should have been put in here. The team is talented enough to win it all. We're not gonna beat better teams if we have to overcome coaching errors from our own sideline again and again.

The fact is that his playcalling is still atrocious consistently enough to be a problem. This exists both with and without injuries...

This is a sincere question and I'm not trying to challenge you personally, but how can you make such an extreme statement? Have you coached in the NFL or elsewhere? I'm asking because I'll give more consideration to your points if I know they're coming from someone with qualifications.

I have no qualifications other than being a couch potato arm-chair QB so I honestly don't feel qualified to say either way.

It would be more interesting if you would break down the play calling and show us where and why its atrocious rather than just making a blanket statement.

No offense, but I have a hard time believing anyone on this board is more qualified to make accurate observations about the entire scope of the game as well as individual plays than the coaches that are on the sidelines.

I get mad and frustrated as anyone but at the end of the day, I have to admit that for the most part, I really don't know what the hell I'm talking about

He was 1 missed kick from being in the same situation as Wade.

Bottom line he has to get better.

The Offense was in Total chaos after Bailey missed that field goal to open the game.

It seemed like when we simplified the offense that is when we took off.

For some reason we have a lot of miscomunications when our Receivers are asked to make a read.

You can't discount the injuries we had. And Alex Smith shouldn't be a starter, but he's worthy of a #2 QB spot. Our CB's are McCann and Ball, we've got Kowalski playing center and had to throw the ball to Jesse Holley.

I never defended his playcalling, merely pointed out that a majority of his detractors are mouth breathing simpletons who add no value to this forum.

I think it was more like all the air came out emotionally. They were getting the deja vu feelling after what happened last week. This time they pulled it out on the road and maybe they can believe in themselves a little.

How do you know if his detractors are wrong?

He's been anointed by a lot for no reason.

When he wins that is when we should know he is the guy.

But so many have an (and I hate this word) agenda when it comes to him.

You clearly need to be lobotomized. Nuanced views are not welcome. You must love or hate everything about every player, coach and game.

I think the problem is the hyperbole that people use when trying to making a point, saying the play calling is atrocious or a given team is beyond awful just sounds too extreme and perhaps over-emotional in a lot of peoples minds and therefore leads to strife versus mutually enlightening dialogue

Same can be said about some who think JG is second coming of Landry and JJ combined.

Im not going to give them that benefit of the doubt.

Nobody knew where anyone was going and the offense was completely stagnant.

Really?

After such an emotionally rousing win, this is what you choose to post?

It couldn't have waited a day?

Wow!
This thread is a troll's heaven. Time to leave it.

Man, you guys are just.............:bang2: :bang2: Started to watch this team in 78' and haven't missed a game since........but here's my take:

Red is clearly far from perfect and I don't think he's even in the top 10 of NFL coaches. HOWEVER, if you guys can't see the personnel problems this team has well.....you need HELP. The oline is swiss cheese as usual. We're playing with CB's that some teams wouldn't even have on their ROSTER, and of course you have the kiddie kicking corps that are a fun experiment of Jerrah's. And that's what it come down to: Jerry *****' Jones. The 'GM' of the Cowboys pushes off cheap, crappy vets like Brooking, James, Choice and Ball on a coach that needs every decent, solid player he can get. People OPENLY wonder why we didn't sign Akers? Well, the kids were cheaper...you see, this is Jerrah's personal fantasy team and he thinks in his pickled state of mind from 1 million too many martinis that he is the smartest guy in the room.

Well, oil and gas biz wise you are Jerrah, but the team has gone steadily DOWNHILL since you escorted Jimmy out of town and took over football operations. As you like to say: 'THATS A FACT'.........so before y'all rant and rave and lose your mind over Red or Romo or anyone else, please look at Jerrah and his malfeasance as it's GLARING.

PS: MY idea of a real GM is Martin Mayhew of the Detroit Lions: take a CLOSE look at that team when they beat us by about 21pts. in a couple weeks. They were 0-16 in 2008 and now they are one of the most solid, young teams in the league thanks to Mayhew. Rant over. :starspin

The play calling down the stretch on the game-tying drive was odd to say the least.
