Storm warning vs Giants

Yes sir, and totally agree.
My point being is sticking with a game plan from the beginning.
Either bring the heat or rely on this very new secondary... in a very important division game.
I'm probably overthinking the game.. its football, and good teams make adjustments, I get that, but I just don't want to see a drastic change made if suddenly the wrong choice puts us 14 down early.

I'm strongly thinking that this group of Cowboys will fully be prepared to start the season on a high level of focus and play!

Cool.

I'm glad the Giants are smug coming into this game, because they'll be walking into a buzzsaw.

100K strong, reigning #1 seed, reigning ROY, and a top 5 defense that has been disrespected all off season.

Not to mention, a pissed off Ezekiel Elliott.

So let them cherish those 2 fluke wins for another 24 hrs.

We've been ready...

You as excited as are casmith07 and I are for this game?:)

We opened the Giants game with an 8 minute, 35 second drive. We forced a punt on our first defensive series. Had another 8 minute drive next.

What do flat mean?

Did we win those games?

You make it sound like a moral victory.

I think not.

But...."We don't matchup well against them.." lol. We added Switzer to our deep wr core. We can throw Dez, TWill, Beasley, Switzer, and Butler along with Witten/Swaim or Hannah at their secondary. Their OL is still terrible. Pretty sure we can match up that with Lawrence, Mayowa, Taco, Crawford, Collins, Paea, Tapper and hopefully the new guy Price (Broaddus likes the guy). Dak looks improved from what we saw in preseason. Arm shows more zip on his passes (worked with qb coach in offseason at qb camp.). The guy won't be green as he was last year going into his 1st game vs GIants and won't be playing in the cold weather of NY (where he also struggled). because of it.
Yeah but that's just paper shuffling to me.

We do not beat this team with any consistency.

I know you guys saw the Pats-KC game last night.

The Pats were not ready to play and they got their ears boxed.

Remember back to our last game in 2016 against the Packers.

We were not ready for that game either and fell behind by 21 pts early and lost.

Is this going to happen again Sunday?

Possibly.

Our starters have not played much..

Garrett has had problems getting this team ready for rivals like NY and GB.

Both of those teams have our number.

We don't matchup well against them..

so eyes wide open folks.

Comments?

Oh..BTW..Beckham will play..

count on it..

The Pats had key injuries. It had nothing to do with their readiness. With Edelman already out, the loss of Amendola allowed the Chiefs to really focus on Gronk, Cooks, and stopping the run. For 3 quarters, Brady had all day to throw and could not find anyone because of it.

When Hightower went out they only had a waiver claim to back him up. Compounding that was the lack of a pass rush outside of Flowers. The Chiefs did a good job isolating their receivers on the LB and overcame the Pats gameplan of taking Kelce out of the game. Their RB had a field day with poor tackling from the LB.

If anything that game shows how we are infinitely better equipped to handle injuries than the Pats. If we lose a LB we have Durant, Wilber, and Wilson who can step up. We are 5 deep at WR and they call can play. Beasley goes down we have Switzer.

Now compare and contrast with the Giants who have no depth at LB and are going to be stretched thin at WR with OBJ nursing the high ankle sprain. They have issues at DE, TE, and secondary with depth as well. They are razor thin.

As for not matching up I have no idea what you are talking about. The strength of their team is the DL and secondary although people are discounting the loss of Hankins severely. We have a talented OL, runners, and receivers that matchup as well as anyone in the league. The wild card here is Dak's ability to read what they throw at him. Given his work ethic and time to prepare I like his chances.

They have talented receivers but their QB's arm is going from al dente to mush and cannot get the ball down the field. Our secondary tackles well. Their OL is marginally athletic but is soft up the middle. Our front 7 is athletic and powerful.

And if OBJ plays that means he is going to be taking a pain shot and be playing on a high ankle sprain that has not had time to heal. I hope he plays because he won't be able to cut and be a high risk for injury.

Nice reply.

Lots to consider.

Injuries are a factor, sure.

We do not have the injures the Pats did..

But we have lots of suspensions now and that's like injuries to me.

Same effects.

We do not have Rico whom I consider a game changer now..

Zeke is probably week to week depending on court procedings..

We really do not know how the new OL is going to hold up with 2 new starters..

Smith's back is an issue..

and the OL has a lot of pressure coming all season to score and TOP issues.

The defense is a question mark wrapped around an enigma.

Hopefully we do not have to score 30 puts a game to win.

We'will see

Eli is no where close to Aaron Rodgers.
Usually i would say they don't even belong in the same sentence but the way you wrote it is the only way you can put them in the same sentence.

Can't believe someone would compare them.
If Rodgers had the defense and run game (playoffs) that Eli had he wins more then 1 superbowl

In both our previous games vs. NY, we were beaten by a mere handful of points. It's not like we're doomed to suffer the same fate every time we play them by any stretch of the imagination. They'll be impacted by more injuries than we will have in that contest. As always, it will boil down to the team that comes to play with better focus and grit. If ODB plays, he'll likely be limited and far more ineffective than what he'd be otherwise. As always, our chances will remain solely in our ability to outscore them. Both Dak and Zeke will be better able to contribute than they were last year as well. I believe we'll have a great shot at winning our games vs. NY this year. Ultimately, that's all any team can ask.

Wow...bunch of old ladies around here!

Hey, guys...stop worrying and just root for the team. I swear, some of y'all would complain if they hanged you with a new rope.

Rico was not likely to be active over the other TE who can block. He has come a long way but he is not there yet.

Zeke won the injunction. He is not going to miss time due to suspension unless the NFL appeals and wins which they have not even done.

Smith practiced for the past 3 weeks.

And of course there is uncertainty but you are fixating on ours and ignoring their's. LC is not new to the system and is extremely talented. Between Cooper or Green we have talent to play at guard. Now look at the GIants who are starting a new NT, MIKE, and FS. Their replacements are not as well regarded and they are razor thin.

The defense is not as unknown as you claim. Carroll, Paea, and Smith are new but only Smith is inexperienced. The other 8 are all returning players. Even better the defense has the numbers to rotate. Sure Irving is suspended but we have an 8 deep DL rotation of talented players nonetheless. Last year we had to play 3 man fronts because of attrition. Wilber, Elliott, and Durant can rotate at the LB spots and Awuzie, Woods, and Frazier can help the secondary.

Yeah.

but they have won 2 SBs in the last 5 years or so..

we have won like one playoff game in like forever.

Not much comparison really.

????

What in the world does that have to do with the conversation at hand?

YOU said "Garrett has problems getting this team ready for rivals like NY"

I responded by pointing out that under Garrett, we had a stretch where we beat NY FIVE times in a row.

And then you quote me and go on a rant about how they've won Super Bowls...

LOL wut

Reading comprehension much?

Why weren't the Patriots ready to play? They were leading the first half of the game. They just got beat by a better team that night in the 2nd half.

Now if you want to look at a team truly not ready to play a game look to the Cowboys in the playoffs last year. That's a team unprepared to play. Because, ya know, safety and stuff.
