Really? We have the same the defense we did in 2014. Yet, we managed a 12-4 record. What is the common denominator? A RB who keeps the defense OFF the field.

RB at #4 just ain't happening. Less chance than QB. But I guess you know more than the Cowboys.

If we don't fix the defense then we will be behind most of the game and have to throw the ball all the time to try and catch up.

No sir you are absolutely wrong and let me tell you why that statement about the defense doesn't apply now.........

Our defense was holding it down last year until it cldnt no more alllllll the 3 and outs remember that and somehow in the 4th we still had chances to win but the defense was on the field so much in those games they tired out in my opinion not sustained drives to give them breathers not soon as we make them punt 4 plays later right back on defense....

Our games were close down to our qb mak a play or 2 but it didnt happen so even with a terrible qb and we still barely losing games...

so no i disagree with your assessment our defense.. we improved last year the only thing the turnovers didn't bounce our way but we were not getting blown out by any means so Zeke would make us even better because the d can rest ... imo

So what you gonna do put 9 in box or double dez then we got Beas in slot smh that's hell on offense and Im cool with Lawson from Clemson in 2nd if we want DE..... Bosa not making that type of impact..... pick your position because either one can actually take it to the house not get caught from behind to where we have to kick a field goal instead i wonder do people really think about that actually scoring consistently on long runs we seen Zeke do it and Henry actually

The Cowboys FO is probably asking the obvious

What we be the better combo and chance for best long term upside
A RB at 4, then BPA or RB is the 2nd or 3rd or
A QB, DE, DT, or DB at 4, then BPA or RB in the 2nd or 3rd

They know that in later rounds it is much harder to find multi year pro bowl players at other key positions than it is at RB....so it makes this a bit tougher

Id be open to elliot in the first if they can add another 2nd or 3rd rounder in the trade.

74% of Ezekiel Elliott's 3rd and 4th down attempts resulted in a 1st Down or TD

Other notables:
D.Henry, 60%
R.Freeman 57%
L.Fournette 48%
Most of that is probably their team's offensive line.

Murray (2014) 19 of 26 -- 73%
McFadden (2015) 13 of 17 -- 77%

I agree that 4 is too high for Zeke, that's why I was targeting a trade down with either the fins or bucs at 8 or 9. Well, the stupid eagles threw a monkey wrench into those plans, and if Zeke is there for them at 8 , there's a strong possibility they take him.

I also agree that we have more holes to fill on defense, but I'm still not sure if there's a defensive player in the 1st that can help out the d more than Zeke can.

The Eagles positioned themselves at 8 because they knew Zeke will never got to 13.
