That's a fair point. Weeden is way too late getting rid of the ball. He can't anticipate guys getting open and he can't see the routes develop in front of him. At the point of the freeze frame, he won't be able to get it in there accurately with enough zip.

Yes this is the major shortcoming of Weeden. It showed up in grand fashion in the Arizona game last year. He just doesn't not have any sense of timing when delivering the ball.

I don't blame it on him entirely though. I also blame it on the FO for bringing him here in the first place. And the coaching staff for wasting their time with him while there are better prospects better than Weeden. I would have started Kellen Moore right now. Were not throwing deep balls to the receivers anyways and Kellen Moore is so much better than Weeden in finding and delivering the ball to the open man. In fact, I really never good about Weeden and we should not even waste our time with that scrub.

1) - They are not running the ball with any level of consistency. The raw numbers are there, for sure. But, they are reliant on a few big runs against Atlanta and New Orleans to push those numbers up. The down-by-down battering ram is not what it was. So, instead of 2nd and 6, there is a lot more of 2nd and 9 facing this offense. It seems like it is all tied to the passing attack being so pedestrian, that defenses are scheming away the strength of the zone running game by pushing numbers forward, but either way, it is making the running game look average.

No one seems to be mentioning how pathetic our running game has been and we really are missing Murray. It was utterly stupid for the FO for not finding a capable running back when they had the chance. Now its come back to bite us.
