Well Stephen Jones keep feeding people "where not in salary cap hell" koolaid, and then we didn't acquire any top DL FAs.
We haven't drafted a DL player in the first round since 2007.
Restructured our HOF pass rusher 3 times too many, to the point where he became a cap casualty that we couldn't afford anymore.
We have no consistency of coaching/philosophy on the defense.
I could keep going but the signs are all there.
