This defense is playing better than it is getting credit for.

The so called great Giants defense is only giving up 5 yards less a game and 1.3 points less per game.

Not counting the people we already have and might re-sign, we need

1. Difference maker at DE
2. Another good DE if Lawrence and/or Tapper can't be counted on
3. Starting caliber DT
4. Starter at MLB

Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeeeeeeah!

Offense doesn't sell tickets. Defense doesn't sell tickets.

The cowboys winning sells tickets. Hottest, most watched football team in America

But in this day of the NFL Offense sells tickets.

Look at the best defense - well IMO - Seattle.

You can't keep everyone and a key injury here or there really hurts.
This defense is built of multiple replaceable parts.

Well maybe not Lee to the degree of the others.
We have been in a rebuilding since Garrett took over. We had to eat a lot of dead money due to paying some of our aging vets bloated contracts. It was a gradual rebuild but Romo was able to keep us at 8-8 and even chances at the playoffs each year.

We rebuilt the offense first to protect Romo, and also his closing window. It takes longer to build a cohesive offensive unit than a defense. They are rebuilding the defense now with some high draft picks and key free agent pick ups, and we have drastically improved the depth across the board. We had several key defensive players targeted through the draft the last couple of years but the draft didn't fall that way and we took the BPA even if it was offense. We still have Romo and Witten but this has suddenly become a very young team on both sides of the ball.

The defense is coming, I think we are just a few key players away. Some luck along the way would help.

The play Gregory had against Peters is impressive because Peters did his job and cut him down. A lot of DE's would have just gave up but not Gregory. On a normal play that pass would have been gone but Wentz held the ball because no one was open. Gregory got off the turf, took advantage of the extra 1.5-2 seconds and got the sack.
