Let's see if he progresses before we throw Weeden under the bus... meanwhile the defense should buy him a month's worth of steak dinners for taking all the blame.

Who buys? The 3 guys that were inactive for game 1 (Bishop, Coleman, Russell).

The DT that was forced to play DE?

At this point, I can't stop laughing at all the attempts to give Weeden a pass for this past weekend.

He wasn't very good. Not sure why people have such a hard time accepting that.

I am bored with this stuff as well!

Weeden said in interviews that he was given the option to both go deep or check down by the coaches, this fact undermines the notion he was "told by the coaches to only check down" which is stupid when down field options are available.

So if Weeden had the option supported by the coaches and failed to deliver to open receivers that is on him completely.

The GIF in this thread shows two receivers wide open and a huge opportunity to Witten missed, three better options than the check down, no defending that without looking moronic.

There were other plays with wide open receivers, Twill with no defenders near him while Brandon holds the ball.

Sturm got it right, as everyone else who watches the game tape critically and without giving lame excuses because he is a back up.

This guy was a first round draft pick and some are making excuses for his second half play.

Nobody's saying that he was told to only checkdown. In fact, the opposite has been reported everywhere. That doesn't mean they didn't want him checking down into an advantageous matchup. You two really need to start addressing the arguments people are making instead of intentionally misrepresenting them and then calling the misrepresentations silly.

By the way, this topic was covered again fairly accurately on Cowboys Break (that's the Broaddus one, right?) today, if anybody hadn't heard it. Starting around the ~19minute mark or so.

The other problem is all my comments are not directed towards you, another poor assumption but you share a similar view yet slightly different.

Your arguments change and fluctuate as they are reduced to absurdity.

You have argued he followed the plan, Weeden had other options down field but checked down instead and you excuse it away with a million absurdities.

Even by indicating Weeden is only required to primarily check the ball down because he is a limited back up, was told to....ect..

You have constantly contradicted yourself!

I just went and reviewed what I've said in this thread on the topic. I can't see what you're talking about at all. Can you help me out by pointing out a single contradiction? You know, just one of the million absurdities will do. That way I'll be able to see where you're coming from better, maybe.

If you'd like, I'll be happy to point out an example or three of you putting arguments in my mouth that I've never made, and then calling those fantasies insane or absurd or laughable or whatever. It'd only be fair.

I have already summarized the first false argument you posted and how you have altered following arguments over time because you overstated the case and have a narrative that Weeden is blameless.

This is boring, just stop responding and stalking my posts in open threads, this is fruitless and futile to continue to rehash the same stuff over and over again.

I will do you the same courtesy with regard to this subject, we are wasting time now.

As a Mod, I think you should know this is going nowhere at this point, no matter how much we rehash.

Just what I thought. Sure, I'll stop replyingto you in the thread.

Just so you know, I can and will continue this with you in pm and take the time to demonstrate all of your logical fallacies to you as they occurred throughout all of the threads and comments you have made accordingly.

I have an extensive education in logic at the highest level, I have no problem laying out the multitude of logical informal fallacies you have committed throughout our exchanges and other posts you have made on the subject.

Starting with the initial argument, with a corresponding false proposition, that the defense was horrible all game, this is where your narrative and following argumentation has its genesis.

We have argued for days on the same subject, you are mixing up many times what I am saying to you specifically as opposed to what I am responding to others with a similar yet distinct perspective in open threads.

You are also lumping what I have argued with you about with that of other posters who are engaging you on the same subject.

As a Mod, you should know when an argument has run its course in the open forum, if you really want to continue we can do so in pm, "just what I thought" is the appropriate thing to do at this point.

It's hard to put too much blame on the defense when they have to use multiple young guys that were not even active for game 1 and other players have to play out of position.

Did I mention LB Wilson (6', 240) playing DE.

Meanwhile Weeden is healthy and supposedly has a great arm but can't throw over 10 yards.

I'd be happy to debate it with you, but you're going to have to do a better job of understanding my argument if you want me to do that, because your description above is silly and not at all what I've repeatedly said in the thread.

Then what is your argument? It's an honest question.

For the record, my post you responded to was hyperbole mostly. But you keep saying that the tape, that shows Weeden missing open guys, is being "misinterpreted". Well what does that actually mean? How is it being misinterpreted?

In the end, the undercurrent of this whole thing is basically the same.

If Weeden is too chicken**** to throw the ball down the field or the coaching staff is too chicken**** to let him challenge teams down the field............... we have problems and won't be winning a lot of games throwing a ton of checkdowns to TBs.

Whether Marinelli trotted out the Girl Scout all-stars or the AFC pro bowlers doesn't change the reality that the lack of defense lost the game.

If the offense could have maintained a higher time of possession it could have been much different. The defense started out good but the DL got tired because they were short handed. When the got tired is when they started playing guys like the LB Wilson at DE. More TOP by the offense and Wilson never has to see the field.
