I'm a huge fan of 12 and 13 formations. Why not have wide splits, run a zone stretch and take a battle of Murray vs Cardinals linebackers? If anything I would've done a QB sneak instead of the trap play..you're absolutely right, pulling guards don't work out of the 23 personnel unless this is junior varsity.

One caveat - they may work if they are pulling outside of the tackle on a sweep or toss. But either way, not a good idea.

I hate to see pulling power plays on a short yardage run. Jason has always done that and it just doesn't work well, thats why I always feel Jason never has a feel for running the ball. Then he gets frustrated and goes pass crazy.

Run a simple iso or dive play behind the fullback. Simple is better for short yardage unless you want to pull out an occasional weak pitch to keep the edge guys honest.

I would go 3 Wide, put the TE on the left and run behind RT. No pulling, no zone stretch, just straight ahead power with Martin/Parnell.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter if Weeden is the QB because he apparently can't or won't throw it to Beasley.

Right. I even criticize Romo sometimes because he fails to hit Beasley. I calculated that Beasley has caught 72% of his career targets.
