So we're gonna give up a dynamic young Pro Bowler for a couple of shots in the dark (i.e. draft picks). That makes sense.

Things are very slow down here, combine that with the fact that the media and the fans are getting frustrated with the lack of movement for a big time WR. The jets went to the AFC title game and have gotten better, meanwhile the holy trinity have been stuck in neutral, at least that's the perception. Look, Miami won't even trade for Brandon Marshall who only has a 1st rounder tender. They're not giving a 1 and a 3 plus an extension to Austin. Just to let you know Parcells is starting to take alot of heat down here. His free agency moves have been dissater's and over the last 2years several dolphins have found themselves on the police blodder.

The media is starting to wonder whether parcells can make enough moves to turn the dolphins from a competitive team into a great team. Parcells was GOD when he got here, but the honeymoon is over!!

Reminds me of those "Greg Ellis for Julius Peppers" rumors last year. How dare they not want our junk!

I hear the Cowboys may hire Dave Hyde to replace Rowdy.

New era. The likes of the Ellis' of the world are now 'clunkers'. We can get cash for those.

Then again, Parcells and Jones made two draft-day trades in 2008. A Dolphins' fourth-round pick went for Anthony Fasano and Akin Ayodele. The teams swapped sixth-round picks and the Dolphins got Jason Ferguson. Those were pretty good deals for the Dolphins.

We used the sixth in '08 for Erik Walden, who didn't make the team.

We made a couple of trades in the fourth in '08 and wound up with Tashard Choice.

I'll take Choice over Fozzy and Yo Yo without blinking.

We're in the crazy season of NFL rumors and tea-leaf reading. For instance, CNN/SI's Peter King is reading Tim Tebow and his agent's refusal to talk meaning Tebow will go between draft slots 28 and 45 (I agree.)

Other reports say the Dolphins are asking for a third-round pick for Justin Smiley. Huh? They don't want Smiley because of injuries. Yet they're supposedly asking other teams for a third-round pick for him? No chance of getting that. As I said when Smiley was told he was gone, they'll be lucky to get anything for him at all.

The most interesting rumor for Dolphins interests is that Dez Bryant will work out for the Cowboys, according to ESPN.com Joe W. tipped us off to this one.

Dez Bryant won't be there for the Cowboys at No. 27. He might not be there for the Dolphins at No. 12. But if he is, doesn't this workout support another trade between the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and his former employee, Bill Parcells?

Swap of first- and third-round picks and the Dolphins get Miles Austin?

Essentially, it'd be Austin, the No. 27 pick and Cowboys third-round pick to the Dolphins for No. 12 pick (Bryant) and Dophins' higher third-round pick.

Looks too good to be true, meaning it probably is.

That story ( about Miles ) has been swirling down here for months. It's been shot down so many times that it's not even worth discussing.

slow news day..

I can't conceive of anyone preferring Jerry Jones and the gang of guys no one else would hire running the show over Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells. The biggest reason we have the roster we have is the guy running the show in Miami.

My illusions of DFW writers being the only ones out of touch is shattered. I hope that Jabroni is satisfied.

giggle. giggle.

how dumb is this guy. Austin isnt going anywhere.

Its absolutely hillarious that this guy thinks we would send our 1 and austin for anything miami has.....that is just plain ridiculous...even if they sent back there 1 and then he is also swapping 3's.....lol

Could the draft just get here and get over already. Stupidity runs rampant this time of year.

The dumbest D-list has-beens on Celebrity Apprentice wouldn't authorize this trade. Well, maybe Sinbad.

You groom a guy for years. Undrafted and all. He proves himself. He has a great chemistry with your superstar undrafted, franchise QB.

You dont trade him. Not even for 2 1st rounders like Fuzzy said...
