Easy. Tablitas. The hispanic communities best kept secret. What the heck are tablitas you may ask? Just a cut of meat that the mexican meat markets premarinate in heaven. The first time you have it you will curse every meal that you have had before it for not being tablitas. You will truly regret the days spent not knowing about tablitas. That is all.

We cook tablitas all the time. These bears fans tailgating next to us once kept sneaking over and grabbing some. I was like, "take as many as you want. They come in a bag." Lol

*and for those that don't know, they're thinly - sliced beef ribs.

The grocery stores call them flanken ribs and generally they only make them to order. It's not something you typically find already sitting out. Having said that, you really want to go with the premarinated version from the mexican meat markets, because you can take it straight from the store and throw it right on the grill.

Yep. That's what I do. I always get that "what is this white boy doing here" look. We get like 2 pounds of them. They cook quickly too, which is nice for tailgating.

2 pounds? Are you feeding birds? I've got a 5 lb minimum rule when it comes to Tablitas, because you can throw them in the microwave for 30 seconds or less and they are pretty close to being as good as new. Next day, chop them up and throw them in a omlet. For lunch, throw them in taco. I could seriously eat them for every meal in a given day.

Lol. We make sausage, beer brats, and other tasty treats too. Bacon wrapped asparagus is a go-to for us.

Try them slow-cooked as well. If I don't grill them, I put in oven(pre-marinated of course) for about 4 hours at 250F. When done, I pull all of the meat off, fat is gone and soaked into the meat for more flavor, and serve over sticky rice.........delicious!

I'll probably eat long before game time, a few hours before. Really have no idea. Could be baked talapia or salmon. May just order pizza and wings.
Or something else. LOL.

Sunday night games suck as far as food sometimes

Sometimes Ill eat lighy throughout the day then have a whole rack of ribs

I've often wondered about how they would taste baked versus grilled. I doubt I try it because it taste so good right off the grill in less than 5 minutes of cooking time so I can't imagine doing it any other way. But I do appreciate the tip...it may be a few years, though, before I get enough self-discipline to try it. As it stands, I can't get the tablitas from my grill to the kitchen, without out eating a few of those bad boys.

I see. I don't eat pork, so I'll cook beef sausage sometimes. But for me, cooking a bunch of other stuff is a waste because I always fill up on the tablitas before I even think of eating anything else.

I have to save room for beer. Lots of beer.

Had wanted to make steaks, but have been out of work the last few weeks with a broken hand. So I picked up burgers and chicken for the grill. Haven't decided what else to make with that. Maybe some ranch beans and tater salad. Also wanted some good beer to go along, but will just get something cheap.

Nothing wrong with this. I sometimes would rather eat a good burger over a steak. Enjoy it muck!

BTW, do me a favor and tell your O's to stop beating up on the Yankees will ya. I like to see it against the rest of the AL East but it's brutal these last couple of games. LOL.......

There's some alitas preparadas (chicken wings) I get at a local Mexican carniceria that are just amazing. Not sure what they put on those babies but I grill them up and they are delicioso!

Start with those and some brews for the day games, as I slow cook some oxtails for the main event. Soon the Herradura reposado shots are flowing to cope with the anxiety.

I have a post game victory cigar ready to light - Oliva Serie V Melanio.
