Sunday Game Day Thread

Get some sleep. Elite level football tomorrow. Anytime the Cowboys play on Monday night, NFL Sunday feels like College Football Saturday.

Wait until you see how dominant the defense will from here on.

Post-Jaelen Phillips trade:

8 quarters, 16 points allowed vs 2 teams currently with playoff seeds

That wasn't the only time the refs helped out your Eagles tonight.
How about the only Detroit TD of the game that happened immediately after Philly got called for a bogus false start on the neutral zone infraction on that tush push.

Or does the narrative being sewn mean we conveniently forget that if the refs got that right Philly wins by double digits

Barkley has been meh this season.
and they're 8-2. if he were having a year like last year, they'd probably be 9-1 or 10-0.

Still not sure Jaelen Phillips for a 3rd was a good trade, but he looks OK. 2 games: 11 tackles, 2TFL, 4QBHits, 1 Sack, FumRec

Wait what? Phillips has been absolutely fantastic. Go watch the Baldy Breakdown from last week. He’s been amazing for Philly

Two things
Goff had a very off night
The Eagles are riding the coattails of their defense

Side note: Russini says she has heard some players are privately frustrated with Hurts and it's not just AJ Brown. They think he's checking down too much....... afraid to throw in tight spaces.

That false start on the tush push was 100% correct. The back (TE IIRC) started forward a good 1/2 second and a full step before the ball was snapped.

that was a legit false start, I’m talking about another one that happened earlier in the game where the DT lined up over the ball and our RG was flagged for touching his hand, which would have been neutral zone infraction

We had to punt, and Detroit scored their only TD on that drive that shouldn’t have happened

The defensive player has the right to jump back to his side of the line of scrimmage if the ball has not been hiked yet. Had he passed the neutral zone and gone into the Eagles side, thus forcing the Eagles Guard to touch him, that legitimately would have been on the Lions player. But since the football was not hiked yet while the Lions player got into the neutral zone, he still gets the privilege of being able to jump back to his side if the ball has not been hiked yet. Your player was wrong to reach out and touch him.

Ok, I didn’t see that play.

Incorrect. If the defensive player enters the neutral zone, then the offensive player can move and if there is contact, it's offsides, as was clearly the case in the wrongly called tush push shown above.

Watching that, I can see why they called false start. The RG actually moved his hand forward in a manner to try to draw the DL off side. It was similar to a QB bobbing his head to do the same. The neutral zone infraction was moot because it was after the false start stopped the play.

I mean so far its getting them wins. Though if their defense has an off game that might expose Hurts but so far he aint hurting the team. Now if he had the leagues worst defense like the Cowboys before the bye week then yeah I can see philly media ripping hurts a new one and all types of drama. But so far that defense keeps them in the game and hurts just has to drive the bus. As long as the offense doesn't make too many mistakes that defense can keep them in the game.

It happened before the defender jumped offsides. It was his hand that Steen was patting: Same as this event that happened in 2022. If the defender has any body part in the neutral zone, the Olineman can touch him for an offsides, as was called on Fowler here
