Sunday Game Day Thread

Mahomes didn’t cook them, neither did Stafford or Love, or Baker Mayfield. Who is this other QB you’re talking about?
You are aware that they should have lose to the Chiefs and the Rams, correct? A blocked kick and a dropped TD in the end zone lol not gonna go down the shoulda woulda coulda road, but yea, this team is way worse than their team last year. They will make a run for sure but the Rams and honestly Seattle are both better teams right now.

I was watching a lot of games yesterday...and I have never seen such cockamemie (is that how you spell it? :) ) calls across the board.

I'm no consiracy guy, and I believe in human error and stupidity. But I don't think it helps the NFL to be so nkdly in bed with Vegas. Running score numbers pregame...and heavy ads during?

They don't even bother to hide it anymore. Something's rotten!
it's cockamAmie

They're just lucky that they play in a division that kind of sucks...???
Two of their 8 wins have been within the division. You know they have beaten the Bucs, Rams, Chiefs, Packers, Lions, and Vikings..

Are you serious???
In all fairness the Packers and Vikings are trash. Should have lost to the Chiefs and Rams. The Bucs are meh at best. The Lions beat themselves last night.

Truer words have never been spoken IMO.

After the first interception by philly deep in the Lions territory with philly not being able to get a TD, you kind of got the feeling that it was going to be a defensive battle, and yet the lions head coach played the play calling like it was going to be high score shoot out.

The lions were 3 for 13 on 3rd down conversions and 0 for 5 on 4th down conversions. Think about that. The refs didn't give that game to the birds, but the head coach of the lions did. Ironically enough, the lions out gained the birds in yardage in that game.
In fact, Sirianni almost gifted the game back by not punting up by 10 points. If the refs were truly in the Eagles' pocket, all they needed to do was give the Eagles a slightly more generous spot on one of the two failed tush-pushes at the end of the 4th quarter and the game would have been effectively over.

that was a legit false start, I’m talking about another one that happened earlier in the game where the DT lined up over the ball and our RG was flagged for touching his hand, which would have been neutral zone infraction

We had to punt, and Detroit scored their only TD on that drive that shouldn’t have happened

It appears you don’t know the rules lol

The Rams are going to have it tough if they have to play on the road in winter weather in Philly, like last year, and the Seahawk's Sam Darnold just did Sam Darnold things... Neither is a lock to beat the Eagles.

I knew Philly couldn't keep the same defense after their super bowl play, and Baun is a prime example. I thought for all the guys they lost, they were kind of stupid paying that money to keep Baun on their team.

I remember last night watching the game where Baun brought down a running back in the backfield for a loss. Perhaps it's just me and not loving all the decisions the cowboys make, but when was the last time one of our linebackers brought down a running back in the backfield? I could have missed it due to my attitude, but I don't remember seeing it. PLEASE let me know I'm wrong.
Never and it's not just in the backfield, he also gets outside and shut down those outside runs too. I am just accepting that the Eagles front office is light years ahead of Dallas when it comes to acquiring players. That defense is loaded again, maybe more so than then they won the Super Bowl. It doesn't even matter that their offense struggles to score points. But to me, that's how you build a championship team. You need defense to win games late in the year. But Jerry loves offense so the defense sucks.

I think we sometimes underestimate human incompetence, and that's what we are seeing in NFL officiating. There are so many new refs it seems. Where did they come from? Why were they promoted to the NFL? What is the test for becoming an NFL ref?

Definitely not a lock, no. If it wasn’t for a blizzard the Rams beat them last year lol.

Don't worry, in another 20 years the game won't be played outside, and everyone will be playing in a domed stadium...

There is something to be said for playing in weather in the north east and mid west during the cold months outside, and generally you don't miss things until they're gone.

Brown was too busy pushing off to get to the ball.
Yep. The db definitely restricted Brown’s arm, but it was because he was trying to knock Brown’s hand at the end of his fully extended arm off him. Should’ve been a no call at worst. Refs make mistakes in split second real-time and that’s understandable. What’s not understandable is the recalcitrant NFL concerning expanding all, or almost all, infractions to challenge and replay.

Probably an unpopular opinion but Dallas should see if they can acquire S. Sanders from Cleveland this offseason. He is quite a bit better than Milton but needs to be developed and might be had for a day 3 pick the way Cleveland seems so disinterested in him.

A fan on this forum recently asks if the front office actually reads football forums LOL

I think we can all agree that a defense will win the game for you, particularly after last years super bowl where the birds front line was dominant during the game.

Exactly what have the cowboys done to build their defense other than trade Parsons to get a DE and some draft picks?

It's funny where I got to see the last two games the birds play, and Phillips who they acquired from Miami seems to be making some big plays from them. That said, I guess the knock on the guy was his injuries.

Came across this on what the Philly paid for him

To some extent, I'm guessing it's not that much different on how they picked up Baun from the Saints.

Thing is, we all talk about the GM, but as a football team, how much do the coaches (less head coach), trainers and scouts actually play in developing a player? The guys who don't make the news, but just as important making the guys play better who aren't the head coach.

Other than his last name being sanders, what do you like about him?
