If you’re declaring someone the best offensive weapon in NFL history, then you’re saying they are a superior option than the next guy.

At rb for instance, Barry Sanders is my choice for best RB weapon ever. Someone else mentioned Emmitt, and that’s a good opinion too. You don’t want anyone else there for maximum offensive consistency and prolificity.

But at QB, Lamar isn’t superior to other dominate players just because he can run too. Peyton had multiple seasons where he outdid Lamar even if you combine running And passing together. I would never be in a situation where I had Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes in my QB room and I had to break the bad news that they’re being benched because Lamar is just a better offensive weapon.

But my answer for any position is easily Jerry. If I have Jerry, that doesn’t mean I have to also have a bad QB. Nobody has dominated the way Jerry did. No receiver has led championship teams the way Jerry did. If Jerry didn’t exist, you can make a strong argument that offenses may be limited and not championship caliber if too much of their production is based on 1 guy, because almost no one else has done that. But you can’t make that argument, because Jerry Rice exists.

Now, Lamar does things no one has done before yes, but it doesn’t add up superiorly to Brees or Marino or Rodgers et al. It’s different, but not necessarily more. I mean, we’re arguing a guy who’s never won OPOY is the OP of all of history
