The Giants traditionally play very well in prime time too. I think we lose this game, but I think it's a perfect litmus test to see where the offense and defense are from game one. The Giants are the perfect foil to the Cowboys, their strengths are our weaknesses and vice versa.
If we lose this game?? I would say we have to win it no other choices, and if we don't I am afraid to say the season won't be as successful as last year.
Prescott has to take the next level and be the difference maker like the other great quarterbacks in the past.

One game is not going to determine the season. Yes big game because it is the divisional game just as last years was a divisional game but it did not determine our season.

On one hand I love being on SNF. I like the primetime slot and it is a great way to end the weekend. On the other hand, I have to wait ALL DAY Sunday to watch my team!!!

Welcome to NFL opening week fans!!! Cheers to the Dallas Cowboys!! :)

It doesn't bother me much.

The only thing I have to really worry about is my beerage consumption throughout the day. I do prefer to remember watching the Cowboys game and if I pound 20 beers throughout the day because I'm stoked that football is back, watching the boys on Sunday night will be an out of mind endeavor.

I used to live in the atlantic time zone, Monday Night Football (when it was good) started at 10:00 PM!!

Killer, back in the day.

This is what I was thinKing as I was reading this thread. I'm EST so it was a 9:00 pm start but that was still a killer on Tuesday morning.

These early season games are the least significant games of the season. The teams that take the field week one don't really even know who and what they are yet.

If I was running the show I wouldn't schedule these big time divisional games so early. There will be so much more importance to them later on. Seems like a waste from both a competitive and a marketing perspective.

I get up at 1AM each morning for work, so it's a labor of love for me to watch the Cowboy's at night. The truth is I'm a bit of an insomniac, so I don't require much sleep anyway. But that will be pushing it ... these days anyway.

This is crazy! I can't believe it is Giants/Cowboys game week already! This was possibly one of the fastest offseasons ever!!

I like Sunday night football bit I understand why some hate it. It's tough staying up late if you work early the next day. I'm just sick and tired of always playing the Giants week 1. Change it up a bit.

My immediate manager works from home every Monday. I'll get to the office around 9 or 9:30 on Mondays instead of my usual 8:30.

I like the prime time games the best. Like it the least when the cowboys play at 1. Prefer 4pm or night games. Don't like to drink too early in the day for one reason. Also, I generally use the early part of the day to take care of some things and then relax later.

I'm basically retired so I don't care what time my team plays, I adjust my schedule accordingly and make the most of that time. The wife and I are cooking Sunday afternoon so we can have the extended family and friends over for Sunday evening and enjoy SNF with our loved ones. Plus I get yet another chance to show off my man cave. :D
Go Cowboys! :flagwave:

I like being on SNF for two reasons: One, I know I'll get the Cowboys game. Two, I get to watch Red Zone all day.

We have to win, I am getting so tired of getting punked by this team. Its literally like we are intimidated by them, we beat everybody in the league except this team. And its not just the sweep last year, they are the ones that beat us back in 07 when we were the number one see, they beat us to open the stadium and Ellie wrote his name on the lockerroom wall, ect......

Its like the punk kid who always would beat you up and take your lunch money at school back in the day:mad:

West Coast is the best for watching sports and especially when it comes to the NFL.

TNF | MNF
Never an issue getting home or going out to watch the game

Sunday
Morning: watch games with coffee and breakfast
Afternoon games: lunch and watch games
SNF: dinner and watch game

I like late afternoon games the best. Get my family duties out of the way and not worry about getting too drunk for work the day after. Because I enjoy listening to post-game radio, I'm up until 2AM at times after a SNF/MNF games.

I am with you. Couple semi-retirement with MST and I've the best of all (football watching) worlds.

On the downside, I lived in Australia for several years and developed a really affinity for Aussie Rule Football. Those games typically come on between midnight and 3:00 am MST. Thank goodness for the DVR
