Saints interested in Henson? - Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Drew Henson was in New Orleans last weekend. Was he in town to talk with the Saints?

If he was, he wasn't telling. The free agent said he was in town visiting Saints tackle Rob Pettiti. The two played together in Dallas under current Saints coach Sean Payton.

It wouldn't be the first time Payton tried to woo a quarterback he used to coach as he looked into trying to pry away Tony Romo from the Cowboys before the Saints signed Drew Brees.

I kind of liked him, .. nothing to really base that on, I just liked the kid.

I wish him well, unless he plays Dallas.

Brian Estridge on 103.3 got to be friends with Sean Payton, and he said that while Sean loved Romo, he had pretty much zero interest in Henson. FWIW.

Yeah, I never heard Payton say anything about Henson at all. It was if he did not exist. Hard to believe we wasted all that time on him.

I still feel Henson never got a legitimate chance in Dallas. Once Parcells made up his mind on Henson that was it. It was absolutely ridiculous to not give Henson any pt in pre-season last year.

Cutting Henson didn't benefit us. He wasn't a "bad guy" or negative influence in the locker room. He would be a decent number 2 for us right now. I just feel that was Parcells ego. Anyway, I wish Henson luck. I'd love to see him have a good game for someone down the road and then listen to Parcells on ESPN.

Henson had plenty of chances to impress the coaching staff. He sucked. He got cut from the Vikings practice squad. He will never amount to anything in the NFL. Cutting him benefitted us greatly, it gave us a chance to get a legitimate football player, Matt Baker. more practice reps.

When Henson couldn't even make the Vikings I was convinced it was right to let him go. Of course, his failing to top that 3rd string kid from the Eagles in Europe also gave me hints about his lack of ability.

Drew Henson owes me back all that time I spent watching him in NFL-E.

Wasted??? umm we put out a pro bowl QB this season i don't think we have truely been wasting time on QB's in the last 4 years. Look at the ends my brotha.

Riiiiiiiiiiight!

There has been at least one "Henson got wronged" post every day since he was waived just like there has been for Q for 2 and half years now.

Oh wait...never mind, no there hasn't. Just an occasional blurb about once a month.
