Great. 3 more years of the same crap we’re willing to give him.

I’m no pleased we haven’t raised the Bar too high for Big Mike.

There is always something to build. Players come and go every year, there is a draft, and there are upgrades to make. Not to mention it’s ridiculous to think a team just has to decide to win a Super Bowl in 1-2 years and POOF, it magically happens. That wouldn’t be guaranteed if Bill Belichick was hired. Jerry is a poor GM, but I’m confident he understands that. What’s odd is that you don’t.

So , Mike was brought in to retool or build a team already poised and talented enough to contend for a championship . Doesn’t add up Rogers??

This hire was to win now not 3-5 years from now.

And I applaud the hire but my expectations are elevated. Aren’t yours??

I think it does. He's had some good defenses overall. But if you look behind the numbers you realize if you take the pass away you'll see more runs. And the opposite is true. Teams are going to adjust their game to what you're taking away.

    All coaches suffer that fate.

If/when it happens, get ready for the Garrett Reunion Tour.

They made a coaching change because the previous coach failed to make a championship game in 10 years.

The firing of garrett is not
Based off the results of one season, but the totality is his accomplishments in Dallas.

Many thought that, but many have thought that about many teams over many years. Preseason projections aren’t gold, and Thinking a team has the talent isn’t the same as saying the talent is so overwhelming it will be a dead certain lock.

if the Cowboys put out competitive teams and have some level of post season success and appears headed the right direction, McCarthy will get at least 3 or 4 years.

Jerry is not going to change coaches every 1-2 years until he wins the Super Bowl like you seem to think. Starting over everything 1-2 years is not a good formula op for success, and would actually discourage quality coaches from coming to Dallas even more than they already are.

There was an ultimatum for this season. And most felt this team should be contending for a championship now.

Why would a coaching change move the Bar?

Yeah, but if he hasn’t won the Super Bowl by May he’s out!

I think you overestimate the talent in some areas. Plus the roster has a lot of free agents that they need to decide whether to keep or not. The lines definitely need a look at talent before they can be considered poised for championship contention. The defense needs an overhaul. I believe it's kind of a win now, but there needs to be a mini rebuild. I think this year we'll fall a little short and next year or the year after is the serious run. I hope I'm wrong, but don't think that I am. Given how this team played when it mattered, I don't think ANY coach could walk in and get them a SB win the following season.

Jerry thinks he has a Super Bowl talented team and many fans and media align with his hype.

This change and hire was made to win now. And I’d argue the leash will be shorter with this core of talent.

I agree the talent has been over hyped but that’s not what Jerry thinks nor many fans and media. That’s the basis of the coaching change. And I’m going to hold their feet to the fire.

I expect a SB now with great coaching.

Again, no proof of sucjph an ultimatum, and again, even if there was one it wouldn't have been an ultimatum based on the notion the team would turn into a pumpkin if it didn’t win the Super Bowl this year, it would have been an ultimatum to GARRETT based on GARRETT having 9 years to get the job done. The entire idea of an u,timatum wasn’t that Garrett specifically had reached the end of his leash.

I think there's just too many key positions where the talent is just adequate and too few draft spots to fix it in just one off-season. If they go on a free agent shopping bonanza, my stance will change...but from what I saw from these guys this year? They don't have the talent to contend against serious playoff-capable teams at this stage.

I dont need proof. The climate was pretty clear IMO.

C’mon Man. Now all of a sudden we are going to give a proven HC 3-5 years with this core of talent??

If this team gets a 1 seed I have to believe they’ll at least get to an nfc title game.

So, you believe this coaching change and hire was all about building for the future not expecting to win now?
