Since we still have some time left between the end of Free Agency and the Drafts...

Would you be interested in a Superbowl series?

Currently NFL teams play 4-5 pre-season games (HOF Game); 16 regular season games, possibly 3 playoff games (wildcard, division, and conference game), and 1 Superbowl game! That's possibly 25 games; not counting any exhibition games.

Other sports -- to include, basketball(the Larry O'Brien Trophy), baseball (the World Series Trophy) , and even hockey (Stanley Cup Trophy) t playoff games to decide the champions.

Why not football? Football playoffs have a "sudden death" concept to determine who will go on to play in the final championship game. Why not develop a series of 3 games (best of 3 games wins the Lombardi trophy)!

Benefits:

Unlike the "on any given Sunday ..." concept, a Superbowl Series gives an opportunity for BEST TEAM to win!

More football ...

extended opportunity for new TV commericials ads at lower costs

More Football ...

How many times have you heard someone mention ..."We should have won that game?"

More foottball ...

Also ...how many of you would buy into doing away with the Probowl?

I like it at first glance.

However, that would extend the likelihood of players getting injured as a downside.

But there is that risk all the time. Plus.. more football! Who can argue with more football?

No thanks. "Any Given Sunday" is what makes it special. It's like the NCAA tournament. Take away the single elimination and you eliminate some of the magic. Football is pretty much perfect, in terms of schedule right now.,

Exactly. Also, have you taken a close look at the amount of money these guys are making each year ...in 3-5 years? The risk of 2 additional games
(3 in the Superbowl Series/the Lombardi Series), is well worth the added risk to obtain the huge paychecks these guys make.

Hell, I'd take the risk of doing one punt return on a kickoff special teams for the money they make per game!;)

I appreciate your sentimentality superpunk, but the "AGS" concept is only good when the winning team is your team. Is it still special in a scenario where your QB, WR or RB is only 70% in the SB and you lose the game because the team didn't bring their "A" game?

Besides, I'm not saying take away "single elimination," I'm saying add the best of a 3-game Superbowl series.

Every team has the "bad game" once in a while ...some More often than not. That said, at least the additional game(s) would provide a window of opportunity for a playmaker to get back to 100%; to allow the team to get another shot, and to really show whether the one game was a fluke or not!

Come on ...you really can improve upon perfect you know!
