Interesting, but I take the opposite lesson.

With the increasing protection of QBs by the league, they can compete physically longer, so that experience is relatively weighing more and more into their production.

Nope. This isn’t a list of guys that won Super Bowls after the age of 30. Most of them won their first in their mid to late twenties. Some even earlier.

How is their current age relevant to how old they actually were when they won a super bowl?

Kind of interesting how each division has only one and only one SB winning QB right now.

AFC North - Lamar Jackson (2018), Andy Dalton (2011), Baker Mayfield (2018)
AFC South - DeShaun Watson (2017), Andrew Luck (2012), Marcus Mariota (2015)
AFC West - Patrick Mahomes (2017), Derek Carr (2014), Phillip Rivers (2004)

NFC East - Dak Prescott (2016), Carson Wentz (2016), Dwayne Haskins (2019)
NFC North - Mitch Trubisky (2017), Matthew Stafford (2010), Kirk Cousins (2012)
NFC South - Matt Ryan (2008) Cam Newton (2011), Jameis Winston (2015)

Not really relevant at all. They were almost all quite a bit younger, youngbloods themselves for the most part, when they first won one.

Brady - 24
Roth - 23
Foles - 29
Flacco - 28
Manning - 27
Rodgers - 27
Brees - 30
Wilson - 25

Wentz played 14 games for Philly at MVP level. He deserves a half.

We will never know but it seems unlikely that Wentz would have outgunned Brady in the Super Bowl. Wentz isn’t clutch, unlike Foles.

Nick Foles was never known to be clutch until that playoff run. And in 2010, Rodgers who isn't clutch in the least against good opponents, outgunned "clutch" Big Ben.

He kinda didn't.

Edit: Sorry, Matt, I meant to say he really isn't. Foles isn't all that clutch. He got lucky to face NE in the super bowl, w/ one of the worst D's that ever made an appearance there. Dude had all day to stand in the pocket. Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball the Eagles D was harrassing Brady pretty good.

Quarterbacks don't win super bowls, teams do. Foles is not better than Brady, the Eagles were better than the Patriots. The QBs give you an advantage, but that only goes so far. You still need the team around you or a HOF QB can be beaten by a bum. Its happened.

Foles hasn't done anything as a starter. Great as a back up. We'll see if the "hasn't done anything as a starter" continues this year
